How to Take off wiper arms on 1994 ford f150

Where the wiper arms attach at the base of the windshield, look on the side of the wiper arm for a small lock that can be pulled out with a small screwdriver, lift the wiper arm and slide the lock out as you release the wiper arm which should now stay in the raised position, slide the wioer arm off the shaft where the arm is attached.

Can I bypass (hotwire) the controller on my Makita ls1013 Miter saw?

Not a good idea. Miter saw are too dangerous to be altering them in any way.

Makita LS1013 saw head is frozen tight and will not move down freely to cut position How is the head disassembled from the body of the tool?

With problems like this, I would always recommend getting in touch with your local Makita service agent, details of which will be on the Makita website, then using the dealer locator tab.
However, before thinking about taking the head off, have you checked all other options. Does the lock pin have free movement and is it well clear of the cast arm? Is the guard and guard release system working properly. The arm will not lower if the guard isn't retracting properly. You should also make sure the cutting arm linkage and spring are clean and lubed (WD40 should be fine). The arm is under tension due to the return spring so make sure that is secured/removed first, then remove the pivot pin and the arm should come away. Click here for a diagram, the spring is on page 1, position 13 and the pivot pin etc is on page 2, pos 85/86/87/96/95. The guard and associated parts are also on page 1.

My LS1013 saw kicks back toward the end of cut, it's worst with wide boards. How can I correct this? John L. Edmonds [email protected]

John, These sliding saws are a lot like radial arm saws except it is possible to pull the slide forward, then lower the saw and cut while pushing. Some people operate their saws like this, but it's dangerous unless you use both hold-down clamps and board has no warp. When operated in this manner, the blade is pushing the board up. If the board has any room to move, it can kick. This may be what you are experiencing. On the other hand, if you operate the saw like a radial arm saw, that is, by pushing the slide all of the way back, lowering the saw and then pulling the slide toward you to finish the cut - then the blade is pushing the board down, which is safer, especially if you don't use the hold-downs. However, if the saw is not correctly aligned such that the blade is not quite parallel to the slide, then the back of the blade will tend to lift up on the board on one side. You can test for this mis-alignment with a dial indicator. Just slide the saw forward or back as the indicator rubs along the surface of the blade. Since the saw is moving along the slide, the indicator should move very little if the blade is parallel to the slide. good luck, Al K

How do I remove the threaded rod from beneath the turn table of a Mikita LS1013 Slide Compound Mitre Saw ? I have removed the two black turning/tightning handles but cannot see how the rod is removed.

if you removed the handle from the rod you would need to put a pair of pliers on it gently and remove it. or if you turn it upside down and remove the tube from sliding mechanism you can grip the rod from there and unscrew
