Magenta cartridge empty

We just put a brand new magenta cartridge in our phased 7300DN but the "magenta cartridge empty" error message will not disappear. We even tried replacing the magenta imaging unit but still cannot get the error message off the screen. We have shaken the toner to sift it, made sure all the tape strips were removed....still nothing. We change cartridges every week so we know we are doing this correctly. How do we get the error message to clear?

When you take the toner cartridge off the imaging unit, is there magenta toner in the open slot of the IU? Assuming that there is nothing wrong with the toner cartridge, you are possibly looking at a bad engine control board.

MFC-J430W will not recognize any new magenta cartridge!

When installing the cartridges, it is important that you insert them from left to right with the black cartridge first and the magenta cartridge last. The reason for this is because the magenta cartridge has a clip on top of it that goes into the cartridge door sensor. The clip needs to push the sensor in so the printer is able to function with the cartridge door open. If you insert the magenta cartridge first, the printer will think the cartridge door is closed and you will get a error message for the other missing cartridges.

Hp c6180 states cartridges missing or damaged

OK now this might seem bizarre, but did you go ahead and click the "Black Only" print option?

I have a C6180. Just installed all new cartridges. Tried to print and got the message that Cyan is empty. Tried all sorts of things. Then out of frustration clicked the Black Onl option. Document came out printed in color! Double checked with a picture that has lots of cyan colors. It all printed too! Go figure.

I replaced an ink cartridge because the printer stopped working and showed a message that the old cartridge is empty. However after putting the new one in but the printer still refuses to work and shows...

maybe the cartridge is wrong, release it and clean the electrical contacts, put them again one by one, if notting happen, try this
Solution As the printer operates, it moves ink from the ink cartridges into a printhead reservoir. The printer does not deliver a message when an ink cartridge goes empty, because it still has ink in the reservoir. The printer continues printing until the ink level in the reservoir falls to a first trigger point - then a message appears advising the printer owner to Replace Cartridges Soon . At this point, other cartridges that are empty but have not reached the trigger point are also mentioned in the message, to save trips to the retailer. After the first trigger point, the printer can continue printing until ink levels in the reservoir reach a second trigger point. At the second trigger point there is only enough ink left to perform vital servicing tasks, and a new message appears, saying Ink Cartridges Empty . The options offered depend on the usable inks remaining. If no options are offered, the cartridges indicated must be replaced before printing can continue. The Ink Cartridges Empty options are described in the table below: Ink colors out Option Print mode possible All Cancel None Black

AND

Cyan, Magenta, or Yellow (any or all) Black only Continue with other colors Cyan/Magenta/Yellow mode (composite black)

Text and photo quality will differ from those printed when all colors are available Light Cyan or Light Magenta (either or both) Cyan, Magenta, or Yellow (any or all)

(Black still available) Print with black ink only Grayscale

Empty ink cartridge message

I replaced the old cartridge with a new one (Magenta) and it still asks me to replace it with a new cartridge.
For 1 colour which is LOW, it stopped me completely from PRINTING or COPYING at all.
Any clues how to fix this?
