The green light blinks every time you press a key n the remote control.

I have had this problem in some models of plasma sets before. In most cases the power supply and main drive boards had to be replaced. In a small number of cases the failure was the screen itself.
In all cases, the cost of the repair was expensive. For the screen failure, the set was scrapped.

A 6 flash error indicates a problem with the backlight. Your set is less than a year old and still in warranty, so you should contact Sony and arrange for a service call to get it repaired.

The green blinks are an error code indicating a specific fault, your power supply developed an 'over-voltage' issue and needs to be serviced at your local repair shop.......
if the prongs look like this, you will have to acquire an ac adaptor for your TV, this adaptor you can locate at any radioshack store, and sometimes it's called foreign ac adapters for US use.Most likely is CRT coolant leak on signal PCB or right into
the connectors joining the signal PCB to the main PCB.Give
it a real close look for "wet" damage.
