When I hook power up to my amp it blows the fuse's instantly. (ones in the amp and on my power cable). I took the back cover off the amp and looked for burn marks, anything loose or even signs of where it got shorted or anything that would short it. found nothing but a elec. burnt smell. Friend gave me the amp and said that it died on him. It was not cranked all the way up and there was no high voltage from the car. hoping someone has the same problem and a fix

SOURCE: When I turn on the car all 8 transisters (#IRF3205) on the 12V side of the amp blow up is their a short in side the amp?

If the power supply transistors blew out, it's possible that the output transistors have failed (shorted).

If you're going to try to repair it, there are likely 2 blown driver transistors near the driver IC (TL494). You must check them. If they're blown, the new 3205s will blow out again.

Why does the fuse keep blowing on my cub cadet ltx 1050

A fuse blows because the circuit it provide power to has a shorted component or wire.

My car amp just started blowing the inline fuse every time I hook it up. Why?

Look for a short of any kind in your wiring. Make sure you don't have an exposed power wire somewhere that's grounding out. Check all the isolation real well.
You can also bench test the amp to see if the amp has internal damage that is causing the fuse to blow instantly.

Suddenly blows fuse as soon as plugged in why?

Usually a fuse blowing immediately means there is a short in the amp somewhere.

My qsc plx 3402 will not power up. I believe I shorted it out with my speaker cables

Most likely...shorted speaker wires, defective speakers or too many cabinets wired together can blow a amplifier channel in an instant. Manufacturers use to mount protection fuses on the exterior of equipment but people started replacing 3 amp with 25 amp automobile fuses and destroying internal circuits. You could pop the cover to look for a power supply protection fuse (same value replacement please) BUT be careful as there are sustained voltages after the unit is disconnected from the AC outlet that hold enough power to make this type work dangerous. I recommend sending it to a professional repair shop for a checkout and estimate.

My amp blew the 20 amp fuses. Replaced and they blew as soon as the radio kicked in. Took the back off to look for any burnt connections or blown open/expanded capacitors or resistors. It smells like...

Remove all the wires from the amp including the remote turn on wire. Once you do that, after about 30 seconds the amp will reset. Hook the power up first, then the ground then the remote. Turn the unit on and check for power WITHOUT the speakers hooked up. If you get no power by now it's a good chance that the amp is cooked. If you do get power, try hoking up your speakers first on one channel then the other channel and then bridged. If it cuts out or off when you touch the speaker wires to one channel or the other, then that channel is no good. Hope this helps.

Amp blows fuses

Are you using the correct fuse? if so,
more then likely, you don't have a good ground. Try grounding to something else that has more direct connection to your frame. If that doesnt work, try getting larger power cables.
I had the same problem with my 2500w xplodes all I had to do was get a thicker cable for the ground and battery connection. What was happening, was it was needing more power then the wire and fuse could handle, so it would blow the fuse, since the higher you have it, the more power it needs to feed the watts.
I would try grounding it directly to the frame on a good part of the frame before spending another $70 on new power cables though.

Our DVD/Receiver won't turn on and its not a power cord/pluggin in issue...

I had the same power problem with my th-c50. In fact, this is a common problem with this model Home Theater In a Box (HTIB). The issue truly is the fuse. All you have to do is take the cover off and replace the fuse. There are approximately 8 screws total to take the cover off and you can do it with a standard phillips screwdriver. Once the cover is off, the fuse you need to change is underneath and slightly to the right of the power input (if the box in on your lap with the front facing away from you). The stock fuse is a ceramic, white fuse and if you aren't familiar with fuses, it looks like a very small cylinder. The model number is T1AH250V. These numbers mean that it is a 1 amp, 250 volt ceramic fuse, 5 x 20 mm in size. The fuse is held together by four metal posts. Bend the posts back to take the fuse out. Go to Radio Shack or your local hardware store and get a replacement fuse with the specs above. The problem that I had is that none of my local hardware stores had a ceramic fuse with these specs, only glass. I bought the glass fuse anyway (T1AL250V) and it works beautifully. Be sure to buy a "slow blow" fuse instead of a "fast acting" as they are more durable. Insert the fuse into the slot, tighten the clamps, put the cover back on and your done! It doesn't take too long. Hope this helps.

Beer Spilled on my Power Acoustik PS2-820 Amp

Hi , now that you have the amp apart , just check the underside of the printed circuit board and check for any corrosion ,rub it with a soft brush . then try connecting without speakers . see if it still blows fuse, if it does then there is a likelihood that your mosfets / outputs may have shorted the first time you reconnected it . Good luck

Smoking Amp/Fuse Blowing

Sounds like you may have a shorted switching Transistor in the switch mode power supply causing a short to ground. If you are technical enough. Remove power remove cover and do a continuity test on the transistors on the heatsink. non of them should read zero resistance between the three legs. in all connection configuration you use to hook up your meter. If one or Two or even all of them do you must replace with proper part.
