URGENT CALL: Critical Error that keeps cutting out AOL

Hi there I hope you can help - Ive contacted AOL because I log on then within a few minutes, the screen goes black, it then logs itself out/reboots, then when it comes back to the desktop screen a little pop up box says something about a critical error etc (no error number or anything just a message below).

"Windows has encountered a critical problem and will restart your system in one minute - save all your work now"

We use Windows Vista Basic on it.

Ive gone to AOL techies and they say "Its not us sorry, its your laptop that is the source of the issue"..... because this laptop is used for the business we are completely stumped now.... this is the same Laptop we had all the ActiveX probs with you helped us on the other day lol!!

Please dont tell me its serious problem - its only 5 months old lol.

It is unfortunate that you are unable to login to your mail and a message as account unavailable gets displayed. AOL has always been problematic since 1991, the best way for you to resolve your issue is to call AOL. I personally don’t understand why people still use AOL when you have DSL or Cable since DSL and Cable are the internet service then you pay on top of that to use AOL? It just seems like a great waste of money and trouble to me, for AOL is nearly impossible to get off your computer once it has been installed.

hi ,
this is problem with your windows , you used winxp it is need to protect with antivirus .
when u get revers counting on screen just go to "Run"& type shutdown -a
  • once u need to remove virus from u r laptop
  • if problems get same u need to reinstall win xp

Definately not a "major issue"... it is a Software issue rather than a Hardware issue...
And most likely a conflict with your ActiveX controls...

Try This....
Go to Start...Programs......Windows Update..enable if disabled.. and it will search for updates and hopefully install the SP1 update...
This update download apparently has patches for the exact error you have and that is a typical Vista "hiccup" error....

try that, if it doesnt help still, we can go from there..
