Sony KV-27S42 27" TV Logo
Posted on Oct 31, 2010

I was told to unplug tv for a while and then turn it back on and try to reset it back to the default settings. Now, instead of delay timer light blinking 4 times, it is now blinking 2 times and the stereo light is lit (which it wan't before.) The TV still turns off by itself after it makes a few popping or faint knocking sounds. So something has changed, but it still won't stay on. Do I have to worry about the knocking noise? Is there anything else I can do to get the tv working?

    Hello

Can you see the picture without any distortion on it? You haven't mentioned about that. Listen to the picture, if there it is, and see if there is some kind of grains type noise in it or not. From which side of your TV you hear the crack type noise? Is it from the upper side or sideways? Please clarify. Then only I can reach to the nearest fault point. Ok.

Does the RCA TV Model G27400WK, Serial No.234550152 have a reset button and where would it be located?

try these steps
On occasion, an RCA television may need to have certain options reset in order to restore default settings. Software resets, such as resetting the Picture Control, the Parental Control lock and the Wake-Up Timer, can easily be restored to the default settings by accessing the settings menu via the remote control. A Hard Reset is recommended if there are hardware problems with the TV, such as a loss of picture or if the TV isn't turning on properly.

if that doesn't work try these steps
  • Unplug the TV's power cord from the electrical outlet.

  • Wait 5 minutes.

  • Plug the TV's electrical cord back into the electrical outlet. If this does not resolve the problem contact RCA Customer Support or a local technician store

Timer light on and tv wont come on.

It's likely that someone has set the timer to only turn on at a specific time?

Usually you can clear that trouble by unplugging the set for about ten minutes then plugging it back in. That will reset the microprocessor to a default state and the set should work. Once that is done delete the timer settings if it's not already done.

Tv will not turn on. timer light constantly blinks

If you can get into the main menu go to load factory default and reboot, This will reload factory settings and this operation will erase all unwanted settings and load back to factory default. so you can load your own settings and take back control of your tv.

TV won't turn on, delay/timer light flashing

Please update this with the blink count. That will indicate the circuit in which a problem was found. Once I have that information I should be able to give you the probable cause and remedy.
