Question about Cam Spray 1500A 1450 Psi Cold Water Electric Hand Carry Pressure Washer

1 Answer

I use a CamSpray 1500A in a student screen printing studio. Today the pressure washer is not working properly. The motor sounds good, but the pressure is barely coming out of the nozzle. Seems almost like the nozzle is clogged or something? I read something about the ball valve, but cannot figure out how to tell if something is wrong. I am also interested in changing the oil in the unit. If the pressure washer is still OK, how do I change the oil? What kind of oil is recommended?

It can be one of two things, either the valves in the pump or the unloader on the pump is having an issue. The first thing I would check is the unloader. If you look on your machine the big black handle that you screw up and down to regulate the pressure is where your unloader is located. I don't have the model number off the pump so I can't really walk you through repairing it, if you could get the model off the pump I will be able to give you a better idea on what to look for.

If this is not your issue it is going to be the valves in the pump that need to be replaced, for this I would also need to know the model number of the pump in order to give you some direction.

Karch k591. it stops and starts on full pressure - is worth repairing?

not really. It sounds like either a motor or unloader problem I work on washers full time and in my honest opinion these electric washers and a ripoff. You cant work on them as they dont even use industry standard parts. I would invest in a gas engine washer for small homeowner needs. If you must use an electric one, stay away from the ones at Walmart/homedepot etc. check out pressurepro com They can give you better options. Good luck

The washer works for approx 10 minutes, then cuts out for approx 10 minutes. Any ideas so I can order the parts?

I am assuming this is electric powered and if so your motor is overheating and cutting out. There are many reasons why this can happen. Does the motor sound slow or underpowered from when it was new? If so you may have lost a field coil so only 50% of the motor is working, you will also notice a drop in pressure as well. If not then it could be the bearings in either motor or pump head (should make a whining sound though). A failed bearing will mean the motor working harder and overheating. It could also be the pressure valve sticking or the spring inside has broken and doesn't allow pressure to build so the motor runs faster and then overheats...

Karcher 310, motor running but lost all pressure , was working properly then when wanted pressure again after short pause no pressure

Mine does that when I am either not getting enough water to the pressure washer or it still has air in it. I usually turn the pressure washer off and pull the trigger until it stops spitting air.

Karcher G 3000 BH Engine Pumping Problem

This may not be a motor problem. It sounds like your pump is not working properly and the motor is just following the pump. First thing to do is check for leaks in the pump, wand hose, gun etc. It may also be a blown water seal inside the pump.

Sounds like the governor is stuck. My pressure washer speeds up when it has to pump. Don't know if yours uses vacuum to trigger governor or direct linkage. Good Luck.
