The game does not provide an option to delete save files and the recommended method is to simply start a new game and overwrite the existing files
Saying that, you can delete save files by purposely corrupting the files (by, say, turning off the DS as the game is saving), although there is a small element of risk as you can end up with a partially corrupted save that you can neither load from or save to
This #1 Google ranked walkthrough also shows a picture of how to trace around the arrow as some players get their answer rejected by trying to be too precise
Hi,i dont think you can actually DELETE previous users but you can OVERWRITE them
to do this you just start a new game as normal and when you get the first chance to save your progress, which is at the drawbridge of the village,go into the save options and you can overwrite one of the previous saved games JonnieC
Please let me know how you get on or if you need any further help

The Inventor's House (puzzles 121 to 123): Assemble the gizmo. The Decorator's House (puzzles 124 to 126): Achieve maximum satisfaction by filling the rooms at the inn. The Art Lover's House (puzzles 127 to 129): Complete the portrait. The Golden Apple's House (puzzles 130 to 132): Complete the game. The Puzzle Master's House (puzzles 133 to 135): Complete all the previous 132 puzzles.
The game should, of course, overwrite existing saves without problem (even if second hand)
You are not prompted to save when you quit (since there really isn't a quit or even a return to menu)
While the game does have a few set save points, the best way to save (which can be done at any time) is to use the Save option in the trunk (some players forget about this)
If you save into a save slot doing this and it's not there when you next restart the game, then something is wrong
It should also be noted that some (if not many) of the "second hand" copies purchased on eBay are actually pirated copies that have caused problems for players (including stopping with blacked out screens during the game)
If you are confident that saving just isn't working and you're unable to return the game for replacement or refund, one drastic course of action may be to corrupt the save (by quickly turning off the DS while it saves), thus causing the game to say the save is corrupted and make a new save file ... naturally, this should only be done as a last resort
