Installed D865GVHZ motherboard in my HP now can't get ethernet or sound

What do you want to know? To install a sound card to a desktop motherboard you just switch off the power, unplug the power lead. fit the sound card and then plug in and switch on.

Try this free media player : http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ and compare the results . Your sound card is maybe not to blame .

They are usually newer as the ones from the CD.

when u buy hp-520 ther must be a cd for ur sound control and ethernet control....
if there is no cd,contact ur nearest service centre

From what i can find, it doesnt have a agp (like you said) or pci-express slot so you cant install a pci express graphics card.
You could use a pci craphics card but wont be very good,

If you go for a pci card make sure it isnt pci-e

Check the connection to speaker...

ok rikki59 your saying you have either installed a new motherboard or your computer has a D865GVHZ Motherboard if this is the case then you can retrieve the driver from the intel site below, choose your operating system then press go.......on the next page scroll down the page to LAN cick on English(1of3)....... agree to the agreement by clicking accept at the bottom of the next page.......click where it download LAN, then if you don't get a pop up that says save then at the top you may have a bar on the explorer blocking the file, right click then choose download file, open the file after it has finished by double clicking it and install it.

If you computer has already a ethernet card installed on it, just need to get a ethernet cable and connect it to your modem and the other to the computer and make sure the USB is disconnected already, then power off your modem and restart the computer then power the modem back on and check if internet is already working, if its not working you may need to contact your ISP and tell them to enable the ethernet connection of your modem....
