Rca 52 in hdtv my tv wont turn on i push the button on the green power light comes on and it makes a whistling noise then the green light turns off and on 3 times then it shuts off

There seem to be a problem inside the unit that is why it is not coming on and the power light blinking 3 times then shut off.

Mainly, when your power light flashes 3 times, then the problem is power related. The television is receiving power but not using it up. There seem to be a bad capacitor on either the power panel or the main panel of the television.

To find and replace the bad capacitor is the solution to the problem and to do that all you have to do is to, unplug the television and leave it to rest for about 3 hours, so the high voltage will dissipate, then you unscrew the screws that holds the back cover, after doing that, you will have access to both the main panel and the power panel.

After opening up the television, then you lift up the main panel and the power panel, then check for any swollen, melted or burnt capacitor, once you find the capacitor, either on the main panel or power panel, all you have to do is to turn to the other side where you have the tip of the capacitor, then you melt it off using a soldering iron, fix a new capacitor in the holes then solder it back on the panel, then reassemble the television back together and it will be in good condition once again.
