You have to get the conversion kit. Mostly the burner gas nozzels has to be changed. Propane has a higher BTU value than natural gas. So the burner nozzle has to be smaller with propane.
You have to have the right nozzle kit for your dryer. Normally the propane nozzle kit comes with the new dryer. It is attached in a plastic seethrough bag and attached somewhere in the back of dryer.
Also you have to adjust the air opening in the burner for propane. Propane need more air than natural gas to burn properly. If you buy the conversion kit or find the conversion kit in the back of your unit, it will clearly give instructions how to do it.
Al you need to get is a natural gas conversion kit for your dryer. Use your model number and look up a list of spares for your machine. Go down the list till you get to the conversion kits and get the one from LP to Nat of course, something like this one.
You can call your local propane supplier to do it for you or buy the conversion kit at a local appliance parts store and do it yourself. You'll need the make, model and serial # to order the kit. If after you buy the kit, you decide you can't figure out how to do it yourself, then you can still call your propane co. to do it. Just keep in mind today's dryers are not as service friendly as they used to be and if it's a new dryer, you might be better off hiring someone to do it than risk screwing it up and voiding the warranty. Let us know if you need further advice on this. Douglas
Hi,
Yes, but you will need to contact Roper or a local dealer so you can buy a propane conversion kit...they are fairly easy to install be need to be installed correctly for safety and so that everything works well...
Gas to Propane requires a Propane Certified technician. These technicians are provided by the company that provides Propane that they will be using.
You may need to get a Propane conversion kit, for technician from the Propane company to install.
You can certainly double check on this...Hope this helps.
Hello there. If the parts were saved, they can be reused. If not, contact your propane provider and tell them that you plan to convert back to natural gas. They will be able to get you the kit you need, and will possibly have a technician come out and install it for a fee.
You can get the conversion kit. It will tell you how to convert the dryer. I recommend that you get a technician to do it though.
