Hi

If the battery is a Sony InfoLITHIUM rechargeable battery (rather than AA or AAA batteries) then the problem could be a communication issue between the battery and camera.

If the battery does not respond to the 'handshake' the camera sends it, the camera will shut down with a 'battery not compatible' message.

Non response could be down to a faulty battery, or the chip inside the battery not having upto date InfoLITHIUM compatible code.

You could buy a replacement battery from here

All batteries show which cameras they work with which should help you to find the compatible one you need

If you are using standard rechargable batteries in the camera, some cameras will not allow you to use them. you must use sony or non-rechargable.

an example would be AA or AAA rechagables. They only have 1.2V at ful charge where a non-rechargable starts at 1.5V.

Also if your camera uses a battery pack and you are not using a sony, it may not be compatible because some batteries have chips in them as identifiers. With a missing identifier the camera will not use the battery to prevent damage. If you are using a sony battery they battery is probably damaged or the wrogn model

I have a sony dsc-t90 camera when i turn on the power there is error massage {for compatible battery use only}i change a new battery but the problem is still there so is there any body can help me what is...

The compatible batteries for this Camera are NP-FD1, NPBDL.

Please make sure that you're using compatible battery pack.

Remove and reinsert the battery pack, while the Camera is turned off.

Reset the Camera by removing the battery while the Camera is ON and reinsert the battery after a minute and turn on the Camera.

If the issue is not resolved the Camera needs to be serviced, as it will be the issue with the hardware part of the Camera.

Only for use with compatible battery

Try clean contacts of camera for battery, specially the middle one - it is for communication between camera and circuit inside the battery.

Compatible Battery error message

Try clean contacts of camera for battery and contacts of the battery also, specially the middle one - it is for communication between camera and circuit inside the battery. If the problem persists, try use another battery in your camera, or your battery in other compatible product - you determine this way if the problem is inside the battery (I hope, it is cheaper) or inside the camera.

Kodak Easyshare Z1285

Are you using the batteries listed as compatible according to the cameras battery door? Or are you using NON-compatible Alkaline or Ni-Cad batteries? Only Li-Ion and Ni-MH are compatible. Hope this helps...

Battery Problem

I bought a SONY DSC-S750 3 months ago. Since last week, when i turn the camera on, appears the message "for use with compatible battery only". The battery came with the camera. The camera was bought in a big store in Philadelphia. I WILL NEVER BUY A SONY CAMERA AGAIN. I already tried to reset, tried to remove the battery and the problem persists.
