Are there any instuction, with illustrations to do what you just explained. I have no idea where the horizontal transistor is.
The t.v is in protect mode.
what you will need to do is to first check that the horizontal transistor is not short circuited, if so you would need to check whether there are dry joints around the flyback transformer and the horizontal areas, next in line is to check for high b+ ususally disconnecting collector of hori transistor you get an accurate reading of b+. also check the vertical i.c. if all these are ok then the didtal plug in board is the culprit.
Power off the television. Wait a few minutes, then power it back on. If this does not correct the issue leave the power on, point your remote control towards the Sony television and hold the down arrow button. While holding the down arrow button press the "Power" button. Release the down arrow button and the Sony TV will reset itself to factory settings. Once the television performs a scan on itself your problem should be gone.

My Thomson 28WM100T also stays in standby mode as soon as it's plugged.
The screen stays dead. No flashes nothing. if I press the program + button I hear a click and the red light blinks a bit and thats it. Nothing happens.
Could it be the light bulb or a fuse? How do I replace these without being electrocuted. Thank you!
