I have a 19" acoutsitc solution lcd tv (from ebay, i month ago). the remote control only works for a couple of minutes and at random. It is not a remote control fault, because after changing the batteries and installing an av sender, i can see the av sender blinking every time i try to use the remote. so the problem seems to be with the tv itself receiving the signal from the remote. i've wiped what i thought was the sensor area on the tv, but no luck!! it's really frustrating....can you help at all?

ok please open the remote then clean it with pencil eraser.

Just finished reading other posts. Solution that has fixed my problem. Unplug power cord for 1/2 hour. Now, I have sound. That explains why my sound came back the last time. Not Global Vol. Unlock!

My LC37D6U had this problem, thought that I was going **** at first, came to find out that there was a firmware issue with the system. I got ahold of the updates for my particular system and just applied them. ** issues turning on and off now, just the sound going dead after 18 months.
The flashing blue light shows that the TV is receiving I.R. from the remote but doesn't mean that the signal being received is recognized by the Samsung. If you have a "universal" remote then your TV code may need to be re-entered/reprogrammed...changing batteries in a "universal" will usually require it to be reprogrammed. Also...because of the remotes construction (rubber membranes with carbon dots that short across PC traces) I've seen certain buttons stop working altogether.
