You may need to clean the laser in the unit. You can purchase a cleaning disk at Radio Shack or Best Buy. They are normally less than $20.

Unfortunately,
if
the player will no longer read any commercial dvd that you attempt to
play, the unit is defective and needs to be replaced. The unit has a 90 day warranty from
the date of purchase. You will need the receipt in order to receive a
warranty exchange.

Unfortunately, if you're getting that error message on every disk you try to play, it means the player has developed a problem in the dvd mechanism. This can't be repaired.
The warranty is 90 days from the day of purchase. A receipt would be required for warranty exchange.
