Question about Xerox Phaser 6120/YN Laser Printer

I tried to update the firmware on my Xerox Phaser 6120 printer and got a message stating "Dumping Data" and "Invalid Image" Now the printer dislpays TFFS0 and TFFS1 error when booted.

    I have already downloaded the update twice since the original attempt and tried to update with each of the new downloads. I have continued to get the same results.

    Where might I find the original firmware download for the Xerox Phaser 6120? It does not seem to be located on Xerox's web site.

    Yes. I searched for the legacy firmware to no avail. I have not been able to locate the original installation CD.

The firmware update didn't install correctly or was corrupted when you downloaded it. Download the update again and go through the install process again, that should resolve the issue.

    The only option I see when the firmware update fails is to try again. It may be possible to go back to the previous firmware if you can get that download. If it is trying to update at the same time you are trying to do the firmware update you are going to continue to have this problem. The update needs to be stopped until you get the firmware updated and working otherwise it will never take. As a last resort you could try taking it to a service center or Best Buy service and let them try to get it installed but that is going to run into some money most likely.

    Only Xerox or a site like Drivers.com might be able to provide those unless you can locate someone with an original installation CD.

    I contacted Xerox support in reference to this problem you are having. Their instructions are to:

    1. Install Firmware following the instructions on site.
    2. If printer does not restart on it's own at the end of the install process then the firmware did not install.
    3. In the event of 2 above you will have to reinstall the update.

    Make sure there is nothing connected to the printer except a direct connection to the computer being used to update the firmware and that no printer queue's exist for the printer.

    They did not have a link to any previous firmware and did not believe you would be able to install it anyway since it would recognize if you were trying to install an older Firmware and stop the install.

    The solution for the 2 errors you show is to turn the printer off, wait 10 seconds and restart. That is the procedure to clear that error message. This is the only advise they either could or would give for your situation although they may be more forth coming if you contact them as I do not own any Xerox products.

My xerox 6600 keeps saying "invalid black" when replacing cartridge


The CHIP on the NON OEM cartridge is NOT current with correct firmware and as a result the cartridge(s) will NOT reset that a new cartridge has been installed.

Future hint...do NOT update as working printer drivers "ever"...as this is one way that the OEM's thwart the aftermarket TONER usage.

The secretary ordered 3rd party toner cartridges for a Xerox Phaser 6130. After replacing the black cartridge the "invalid cartridge" message comes up. Is there a way that we can use the 3rd...


If you get the "invalid cartridge" message, try completely turning off and unplugging the unit. Then remove the cartridge, close the door and after at least 30 seconds, restart the unit. Then reinstall the cartridge. This worked for me!

Xerox phaser 6120 not duplex printing since it's wireless network


You have to go to printer properties and look for "optional functions" or something to that effect, and check the option "duplexing unit" or similar.
By default the computer does not know, that your printer has duplex capabilities.

Last one month is past we can’t printing our staff. We made complain regarding the same to Sunshine Service they told us that the sensor is gone, and they say its every difficult to get it, but they are trying to get it. Also we have spent on baying new toners for the same which is become useless now.
