PR1500 is completely dead. No lights. Pressing reset buttons does nothing. Possible electrical storm hit. Took other equipment out as well.

Srogers583, Check to see if external fuse or internal fuse may have gone "open circuit" during a feeder line transient spike. Is PR1500 used in residential or industrial location? If unit was not on a "surge-transient" protected ac feeder line, unit may need to be repaired at CyberPower. 12fixlouie

Tomtom 700 dead

After checking around around the web it seems that you are not the only one to get the green screen of death. My suggestion is to hold reset for several seconds, release reset and hold the power button button for 10 seconds. If this doesn't work the only other option is to let the unit sit for several days to let the internal battery completly drain, once drained theirs a good chance it will function normally, this allows any temporary memory to be cleared. Good Luck & hope this helps L8R

Westinghouse VR 4085DF has no power after a lightening storm. No indicator light whatsoever. Replaced the power supply board, yet still nothing.

If you took a high voltage hit then chances are pretty good that you fried the whole unit. The best I can offer is taking off the back and see if you can find any burn marks on any of the boards.

I have a AT@T Model No. E5908, 5.8GHz Corded/Cordless Telephone/Answering System that has always worked perfectly until a bad lightning storm hit a couple of days ago which caused the power to go off. The...

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there is no reset on the phone system, and it's a near certainty that a power surge during the storm "fried" the sensitive circuitry in your phone. The same thing happened to me a couple of years ago and I ended up replacing my phone system. A corded phone in the house at the same time lost its ringer during our storm. To this day it still works fine, but will not ring. While you cannot save your present equipment, it's possible to protect your replacement by installing a phone line surge protector (available at just about any store that sells phones or computers) and a whole house surge protector that you install at the main outside breaker box (you'll need to search the web for that one. Look for a SYCOM surge protector).

I don't know but seems to me that electrical storm did not cause this, a car is a pretty protected environment (also for the electrical equipment) for such stuff, unless you had a direct lightning hit.
I presume that a hit will be very noticable and I always heard that cars are very seldom struck and therefor are a very save place in that respect.
If it is caused by the electrical storm , I would try to disconnect the battery for a period of time and try again before replacing computer and such.(check fuses to rule everything out)

Won't turn on...

It's possible that the convergence IC's may be bad in this set along with a few resistors. A TV repair shop should be able to fix the set for you.
