All routers usually have a small reset button sometimes located in a hole accessed with a paperclip. Switching off and on power should make the router run through a startup process. If all else fails the router can be taken appart and the internal battery disconnected for about 30 seconds, this will clear the memory.

Clear password router

Try pushing the button for 10 seconds or more, because 5 seconds would be for wps or emergency firmware reload(like for a corrupted firmware).

I can't get my Belkin G Wireless router to work with my Clear WiMax modem even after keying in the security key..is this router compatible with this modem?

Any router should work with any modem. Make sure you are running an ethernet cable from the WAN/Uplink port of the router to the modem, or in some cases it will be a USB cable. Also you can test your internet connection by plugging a computer directly into the modem.

We recently installed a new replacement router WRT 160N V3 and something called Network Magic keeps interupting and trying to sell their service. We keep canceling them and then the router does not work...

Hello,

To clear out the problem if Network Magic has something to do with your connection.

1) Uninstall Network Magic from host computer.

2) Remove Ethernet connections to router.

3) Reset the router (press & hold reset button for at least 15 secs.)

4) Run Setup wizard on host computer and follow on screen instructions on connecting PC to router.

5) Setup wizard prompts on installing Network Magic, just ignore it.

6) if it automatically installs Network Magic just uninstall the program before you fully use your router.

Resetting router clears all settings made by Network Magic application made on the router.

Hope this helps.

I have internet connection but my laptop will not connect

Check your connections. 1. Wired: directly connected to the modem (not the router) If this works, the router is the issue. 2. Wired directly to the router If this works then wireless is the problem 3. Wireless Check Key for accuracy, Upper and lower case matters. Check that your router does not have MAC address restrictions 4. Clear the cache on the laptop IE. Use the Options menu to clear this.

Trying to reinstall my wireless router following to steps on the start up disk but it keeps aksing me to put in a pass work so when i do it ask again an again i hqave even tryed the defalt pass word and no...

I would suggest rebooting the whole router. Clear out the settings completely and start again. To clear the router on the back or the router there is a tiny reset button. You will need to use a paperclip hold the button down for 5 sec then run through the setup disk again it should accept you new password this time.

Router causing internet connection to fail intermittently

Hello,
There are a few things can make your wireless router to lose your connection. I like to start with the most simple things first. First clear Out any clutter on your browser. If your are using Internet explorer, go to tools click delete browsing history. When the box appears, clear out the first 3 things. History, Cookies, and temporary Internet files. Firefox, you click on tools, clear private internet files.
After than do a disk cleanup.
In start menu, go to all programs, accessories, system tools and select disk clean up. After this unplug Cable modem's electric cord, unplug the power to your wireless router, leave it unplugged for a couple of minutes, Then plug in your modem, router and restart your pc in that order. If that doesn't work you can always change you network name and WEP key, Hope this helps, also I was assuming you are using a PC and not Mac.
