Hi Christian, if your scanner was manufactured before February 2010 it may not be able to communicate directly with 123Scan2 so you wont be able to upgrade firmware with the program, but you will still be able to use it to create configuration sheets. These are the only two uses for 123Scan2.

To create a configuration sheet without "finding" the scanner click Create New Configuration then choose My scanner is NOT connected. Select the LS2208 and click on the blue firmware button to get into the configuration. When you have completed your configuration click the Print bar codes selection at the top of the window and when the file comes up be sure to click on the Bar code formatting menu and change the Bar code type to 1D One setting per barcode if it is not already there. Older scanners will not work with concatenated 1D barcodes where 123Scan2 puts more than one setting into a barcode.

this seems like an hardware issue, just contact your supplier. Those scanners are covered by 5 years warranty. You probably get an replacement for your faulty device.

you would need to assign the rules to a specific ruleset. Then you switch between the ruleset to specify which rules are active at the moment. you have to change it to IBM handheld mode and install opos drivers from symbol. then use pos.net to connect to them.
Some computers requires to create some config files to connect through hardware address. It took me like 6 month to figure out but now it works

I had the same problem with LS4278, you need to configurate your keyboard and scanner in the same regional and language options

Symbol has confirmed that there was a batch of scanners sent out with defective lasers. Call them at 800-653-5350 for a replacement. Have the scanner handy to give them the serial number. They were very helpful.

you need the Intelli Stand to activate this function. The scanner can recognize it and activates the Hands-free mode himself. Until you reoved it from the IntelliStand again.

The scanner does not detect the keyboard host on power up and is locking up your keyboard. The IBM PC/AT host type barcode must be scanned the first time it is setup. The barcode is on Adobe page 56 of 342 of the LS2208 Product Reference Guide. The scanner should start working immediately after the host type barcode is scanned.
