Looks more an issue with the circuitry to the fans than the optical engine..

If not the cooling fans themselves, then somewhere else on the power board..

LCD TV HAS THE PROBLEM, THE PICTURES ARE FAINT AND THE COLOURS UNCLEAR, SO PLEASE HELP ME TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM

you might have some dust inside the light engine you should dust out your TV set and if you clean the TV and still have the same problem then I would say you have a problem with your optical block

Optoma RD50 TV which shuts down on #1 fan failure

This could be a variant of, or a newer (or older) version of the "DMD fan failure" message.

Symptoms I had are, I stop hearing a fan when the message is displayed.
Then the temp LED keeps flashing RED until I either try to turn the TV on again,
Or turn MAIN power off/on again. BUT it repeats when I try to turn the TV on.
The picture appears normal until this happens ( about 15 sec.)

The solution is to FORCE a normal shutdown by hitting the TV off button
before the message appears.
You should see the power LED flashing RED/GREEN (cool down) and then RED (standby).

Optoma RD-50 DLP has dark vertical shadow on right side of screen

turning off the main can be very harmful to rear projectors if you dont wait for the cooling off period, for instance when you turn off the tv from the remote, the fans inside are still on in order to dissipate the heat given out by the lamp. as a result some of the lens inside the engine may have burns-in caused by excess of heat.thus leading to shadows on the screen.

hope this helps

I turn on the tv but I get no picture (black screen). A sound starts when I turn on the tv. The sound ( like a humming noise) fan perhaps which goes up and down for about a minute then the tv shuts off and...

Sounds like a problem with the color wheel. Unfortunately the color wheel is located inside the light engine. According to everything I have read, the only thing you can do is replace the light engine. You are better off replacing the TV. The light engines can run form $750 to $1400. Which is ridiculous!

Optoma TV light Engine or Optical Engine Replacement

Technical Service Corp 888-942-2929 is where you can purchase an optical engine, I inquired for my RD 65. The part cost over $900, not quite worth it.

Hope this helps
