I have a Corbin mortise lock (circa 1913) which I took apart and found spring coils that had broken apart. I need a diagram of the interior so I can make sure I have everything in place. Also, where may I get replacement springs?

The pull cord on my Craftsman gas blower model 358.794765 was jammed with about 6" sticking out. I took it apart and found nothing broken but now i cannot figure out how to put the spring in. There does...

Most likely the reason for the jamming of pull rope would be the rewind coil was over stressed due to use and age (they become brittle after a while) and where the coil catches on inside of housing snapped causing a slight unwinding and then the restricted movement of pull rope assembly. If you have it apart you should be able to see where the coil connects at both ends and attaches to its mating location. If you do not see the typical bent coil hook then your coil is broken. No worries, if this is the case, heat the broken end with a lighter or torch and use a pair of needle nose pliers and reshape to match the hooking location. Once completed, rewind coil and place masking tape around coil temporarily holding coil in place and leave yourself about three inch lead of coil to attach where it needs to go. Insert and fasten coil assembly then remove all pieces of tape. At this time your pull rope should be recoiling and rewinding pull rope. Always wear eye protection.

I need to see a diagram of the belts and springs on a 42 inch MTD mower deck. I took mine off the tractor to clean it and change the blades, and I found a broken spring. I want to determine where the...

Copy your model number onto this parts and diagrams page for MTD and as you can see from the existing parts diagram, you will have what you need. I would have but I needed the model number.

I have a 175D combination lock. I recently changed the combination # and it worked in the morning and now does not close. Iv'e tried changing the combination but mstill won't close?

I hate to say this, because Masterlock makes a fine product: It sounds like something inside the wheel assembly is broken. If it's still under warranty, send it to Mster Lock for a replacement. If not, replace it with a Corbin Sesame. Corbin originated the design, and they've been making the lock for several decades, now.

X73 found loose spring

I was having a similar problem. After finding the service manual (4402_X73.pdf) and taking the thing apart, an ink-covered broken spring fell from the inside. I checked around the 'Maintenance Station' and found the other half still hanging. Apparently -because I haven't got a replacement yet to confirm- the spring goes across the bottom of the 'Maintenance Station' to a lever on the other side. If someone can tell me where to post a picture of the thing, I'll gladly do it.
