Haier HVT 12ABS fan runs, but fridge does not get cool

We've had this wine fridge for about 3 years now, and all of a sudden it stopped getting cold. We still hear the fan turn on and all appears to be running smoothly but it remains room temperature inside. Does anyone know how to fix this? I have no experience, but would like to try rather than buy a new one. thanks!

Same problem!!! Checked fuses, both were still good. Removed fan, cleaned dust from the fins. Nothing improved.

1. You may need to add freon.
2. It may have a faulty thermostat.

It seems you need hands on service!

Haier Thermoelectric Wine Cooler

This wine cooler hasn't held temperature for months, even though during the winter my living room gets to 58 F at night. I've had it maybe a year.

I took the back off, and 2 of the 3 heat sinks felt cool, which means the thermoelectric pack was just conducting cold out of the cabinet in 2 of 3 cases. The third one felt slightly warm, as it should. I checked that the cool ones had 12 v to them, they did, so they should have been pumping heat out.

I put bowls of ice inside the unit, and when the temperatures got down to the set points, I heard relays click, so I figured the control unit was OK.

I removed one of the TEC modules that was cold on the outside, and taped up the hole with masking tape.

I unplugged the fan from the circuit board and unscrewed that fan assembly from the heat sink.

I then clipped the leads to the TEC unit, cut away the blobs of hot melt glue, and disassembled the cooling module. I took the TEC device and hooked it back up, making sure it had voltage to it. After awhile, both sides just felt slightly warm so I knew it was bad.

Got on line and ordered 4 (to have spares) TEC1-12703 coolers. I have thermal grease. When the parts come, I will re-assemble and should be good to go.

I don't know what blows the TEC devices, they should be very robust. Maybe Haier got a bad bunch of them, I read almost all bad reviews on these wine coolers.

Wine fridge is always running but never cools below room temperature.

the processor cooling fans for the CPU and case fans are 3 PINS.. you can use them but remember that these are 12V fans. once its the same power it will work. Ps if needed you can cut the connects from your old fan and connect it to the new ones to get it to fit properly..

Compressor seems bad

HI sally.well wine coolers r not rocket science.your local engineer should be able to at least diagnose the problem...lets c if u can do it ok?(still getting power )u mean light comes on or u mean it runs but dont get cold?well haier is not the best but if it's done 7 years is not bad:).ok...1-check if it makes any noise or is completely quiet.if no sound feel the motor (compressor).hot or cold.if cold it could be the thermostat or motor.if hot running or not it could be refrigerant or motor.needs visual.hope this helps.ALI

HH error code? on magic chef mcbc580dbt

I, too, have just seen (late June 2013) the "HH" code on my Magic Chef wine cooler (and it is running too cold and I can't reset the temperature). Have you found a solution since your posting of about 1 year ago?

Model ZHSC02PP-- Mini fridge no longer cooling (18-24 months old)

Has it sat any amount of time without usage? Check and see if any of the 4 walls is cool, it could be that the fan isnt working.

It just stopt cooling ([email protected])

Hello,

Turn the temperature dial to the lowest temperature setting. Wait 24 hours for the wine cooler to reach the desired temperature. Also, turn the wine cooler off and inspect the fan. If the fan if it's running or not.

Lastly, check the compressor.

These are the areas that could make your wine cooler stop cooling; the temperatue settings (Thermostat), then Fan and the compressor.

Check these three areas and let me have a feed back.

Bye for now.

Haier wine cellar HVTS18DABB top zone won't cool.

Maybe not the answer for everyone, but I proved it was the fan by removing the back panel, removing the fan and finger guard, then placing a small desktop fan that was the same size as the top-rear fan on the wine fridge. Pumping air directly over the heat sink allowed the unit to attain the temperature set on the front panel. The old fan would either not turn at all, or too slowly to be effective. These fans are junk. Especially after finding articles such as this out in different forums for the same issue. I have the HVTS18DABB model unit and the replacement fan is a simple 120mm square, 25mm deep 12V DC fan. Similar or the same as you see in computer chassis. Found some inexpensive, high CFM, low noise fans from the following site:
http://www.sidewindercomputers.com
Specific fan for my application was the model SY1225SL12SH. Although I did order a second fan that is similar in case the .5amps was too high and I popped a fuse. These fans are inexpensive folks, as long as you aren't afraid to get your hands dirty. Good luck.

I have a Haier 18 bottle cooler. And while it keeps the wine cold, it almost never shuts off. I rarely open the door to let the cold out, but the refrigeration unit never stops pumping. The fans are...

No, i don't believe u are. these small fridge will run longer during the day as they have limited cooling capacity and the heat load is higher during the day. there could also be a problem with the cooling system and if there is one, the problem will become more noticeable and it will stop cooling. otherwise, i would leave it as is
