Printer not listed on computer

We recently had a computer outage. I went to print this morning and when I did, I got a message saying I had no printer. When I pull up my printer listed it isn't there at all. What do I do?

Thank you very much. I just needed to restart the computer. I found this out after the computer locked up. It locked up after it wouldn't take the cd.

Thank you again. It is working well now.

Hi, I believe you will have to re-install the drivers for the printer.

If you have the CD put the CD in drive and start the installation .

PRINTER SHOULD BE DISCONNECTED BEFORE INSTALLATION

1)Disconnect the printer from the computer

2) Put CD in and start the installation, during installation you will be asked to plug the printer's usb cable in.

IF BY ANY CHANCE YOU HAVE LOST THE DRIVER CD,,click on the link below to download the latest drivers.

Cheers Thanks

Epson 4800 Error message - Service req. 100001C0

I was printing quite happily on my Epson 4800 one evening recently, but the next morning the automated nozzle check sent by Harvey Head Cleaner did not print and there were a couple of flashing red LEDs and the printer's LCD display was saying "Service req. 100001C0". What to do? I was about to set off for the day job so I just had to leave it flashing away as I had no idea what to do, but fear the worst...

I did a quick web search that evening and found very little, but a couple of posts seemed to think that turning off the printer was the solution.

I had a look at the Espon Field repair guide that I have and found the following in the error codes section:
100001C0

AC disruption (AC Power) (Unplug and wait 30 sec., then plug back in)

I have the printer plugged into a
power surge protector block so there should not have been any problems and no other equipment was saying that there had been a power outage, but...

So I turned off the printer and left it for a day while I got on with the day job again. When I turned on the printer there was a lot of whirring while it went through its "auto something or other" routine (see previous postings for my thoughts on this) which I watched with a lot of trepidation as this often converts a perfect nozzle check into one with one of more colours completely missing.

Eventually it told me to press pause and then went into it's "Ready" mode.

I ran a nozzle check and it came out perfectly, so all was well again.

Lost connectivity after power outage

If this is a printer WITHOUT WiFi or bluetooth - and you have it connected to another computer (Print Server) via a USB cable - you need to make sure you can see that computer from the other computer you are printing from. Use the network explorer - if you can see the computer and the printer you should be able to print to it.

Sometimes, it may be secured with a password. I found if I can map a shared drive from my laptop to my print server then I can print again. So see if you can see the printer and printer server computer from the other computer. If so you may need to add that printer again to you printer list.

I am unable to print a document. I "tell" the printer to print, it goes through the 1st step, then a message comes up saying "jobs stopped". I select utilities, I am asked to "select printer from list". No...

Under the cover , on the right side there is a tinny stick of plastic that pushes a switch when you close the cover. put a small piece of paper to assure that the stick prees the switch when you close the cover. Try and good success.

Canon L:BP3500 with Vista business

Here are solutions to some common problems with Vista that you might encounter while trying to add or use network printers,

If you have used the printer before without problems, try these options:

• Make sure that the network is working and that your computer is properly connected to the network. For more information, see the following Help topics:
View the status of your home network
Identify and resolve home network problems
Troubleshoot network and Internet connection problems
• Check the status of the printer in the print queue, or go to the printer to make sure that is it powered on and ready to use.
• If the printer is plugged in to another computer and shared on the network, make sure that computer is turned on. If it is turned on and the problem persists, contact the computer owner to make sure that the computer is connected to the network.
• If you are trying to print to a printer that you added using a TCP/IP address instead of a printer name, make sure that your computer is connected to the Internet or the network where the printer is installed. If you recently experienced a power outage, the printer TCP/IP address might have changed. The new address will not work with the printer port that you used to connect the printer to your computer. Try to add the printer again. For more information, see Add or remove a printer.
If you recently installed a new version of Windows, changed the printer driver software, or are trying to print to the printer for the first time, you might need to install printer drivers that are compatible with the version of Windows that you're running. If you are trying to use a printer that is plugged in to another computer and shared on the network, make sure that a driver for your version of Windows is installed on the other computer.

Hope this helps
