Sony nwa 1200 freezing up

If your PS3 is first generation version of the console, it is known to produce the "yellow light of death" and random freezing because the console overheats due to poor cooling and causes internal components to come unsoldered. This is 90% likely your problem and the console will either need repaired or replaced. Another possible cause is an internal hard drive failure causing freezing if you are playing games off the hard drive. This is a less costly part to replace.

Would seem to me that your hard drive is on its way out as the PSP has a hard time reading from it, therefore it freezes. You need to backup your information and replace this drive as soon as possible before it goes completely dead.

There are 2 possible scenarios here. It may be your RAM or your hard drive.

Just perform a defrag on your laptop. It should tell you if have bad sectors or not. If so, you will need to contact Sony how you can go about in replacing the hard drive.

Access your My computer, right click on any of the hard drives, C, D, E, etc & choose Properties, go to Tools & click on Defragment now.

If it's your RAM, try to contact a friend who may have a similar RAM, this laptop has a DDR2 SDRAM type.

Once you have a similar RAM, try to take out the RAM on your laptop & replace it.

That way, we'll be able to narrow down what's really causing your laptop to freeze.

Have you connected the player to your PC in Sonic Stage to see if anything is loaded on to it? Once initialized, the hard drive is empty. Transfer just one track and it should try to rebuild the database.

Once you have done that, remove all the songs from Sonicstage CP. Get rid of EVERYTHING. Reimport all the songs to Sonicstage again and try to sync the NWA unit.

the hard drives corrupted try formatin the hardrive and if that dosent fix it the Hard drives broken you can replace the PS3 hard drive or get it replaced if your still in warrenty

Does it make a clicking noise when you switch it on, then your hard drive is broken and needs to be replaced.

Is the hard drive making a clacking noise, and/or does the mouse freeze only once or freeze and unfreeze a few times before dying completely?

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware.
