Do you want to still be able to use that trusty ol' VCR to be able to record your TV shows but can't seem to do so now that you have gotten a Cable Box? Well here are some simple tips on how to connect all the components and not compromise the quality of the incoming signal of the cable signal feed.
First here are the cables you will need. 3 sections of Coax cable (preferably RG-6 quality)
Now here is how you will need to hook up the cables properly. 1) Connect one Coax cable to the incoming cable signal feed. Usually a screw on connector on the wall or line coming up through the floor. Now connect the other end of this cable to the "Cable in" or "Input" located on the Cable box.
2) Now, connect one end of another Coax Cable to the "TO TV" or "OUTPUT" on the back of the Cable Box. Now connect the other end of this cable to the "CABLE/ANT IN" or "INPUT" connection on the back of the VCR.
3) Now, connect the last coax line from the "TO TV" or "OUTPUT" on the back of the VCR. Now connect the other end of this cable to the "Cable IN" on the back of the TV.
***** ALTERNATIVE OPTION FOR THIS FINAL CONNECTION******
Using the RCA cable connect to the "VIDEO OUT" RCA connections on the back of the VCR and connect the other end of this cable to the "VIDEO IN" on the back of the TV.
Now this is how you will need to set your VCR and Cable box to make your recording.
1) Tune your VCR to Channel 3 or set your timer to record Channel 3. (The actual channel you are going to be recording is controlled by the Cable Box)
2) Tune your cable box to the channel you wish to record. *** Note: Some cable boxes have an auto tune feature that will tune your cable box to a channel while you gone. Contact your cable provider to see if this is available on the model that you have***
I guess you're talking about the cable that first connects to the drum and then to the auger's main cable. You really don't need the connecting cable. Just connect the main auger's cable to the drum and you might lose 12" of cable. If you still want a connecting cable, then buy the Weld On Cable Ends on Ebay and a cable. If you have a Drain Cleaner dealer near you, they will have cables and probably a 3 foot piece you can use as your connecting cable.
First connect the cable box to TV using HD-cable (if connection available) or component cable (three leads) observing the colors. Connect cable box to VCR with an S-video cable or SCART if you have an S-video out scart. Connect VCR to TV with another S-video cable (round connectors) or with a scart to an S-video in scart connection. If you are in the US, the scart connections don't apply.
Connect a Cable Box to a Receiver:
1
Gather all your tools, parts and cables together before you start the connection process. Chances are you will need to connect several items at the same time, including your TV, audio system and TV cable receiver. Your cable box manual is likely to include a diagram of how to make the appropriate connections, so it's important that you read it before attempting any links.
2
Connect the output of the cable box to the input of the receiver. If you are connecting an audio system as well, make sure the audio output cables go directly into the receiver and, from there, to the cable box. Avoid direct connections; instead, go through the receiver for all secondary connections.
3
Select the correct jacks for sound and video. A newer model of receiver should offer several options, including analog TV out and DTV out. It should also offer an S-video and a service port. Depending on the type of cable box you use, one or more of the same jacks will be available there, too. When connecting both systems, make sure cables go between similar outputs.
4
Use an S-video connection cable to link your TV with your cable box. S-video connection cables allow you to preserve good quality in both image and audio. Most cable boxes come with S-video connection cables, but you can get them at any electronics store. Once you have them, simply connect both ends to the right output. It'll be easy to identify, because it's usually the only round one available.
5
Plug the TV, cable box and receiver into an electrical outlet to make sure everything is working properly. If you are getting static or interference, you may need to tighten the connections or change the cables.
If you want to control both the light and the fan using 3-ways, then just wire 2 sets of the 3-way circuits. For this you need two sets of 3-wire between the switches, and one 3-wire cable from the switch location to the fan/light box.
At box #1 (a 2 gang box), you will run a power cable (marked cable #1) into it. From there you run 2 sets of 3-wire cables (identified as cable #2 & cable #3) to the other switch location, which will also be a 2-gang box (box #2).
Also from box #1, you will run a 3-wire cable (cable #4) to the fan/light box (box #3).
Hook up is as follows:
Box #3: connect black of cable #4 to black (fan), connect red of cable #4 to blue (light), connect white of cable #4 to white (fan/light), and connect the bare to the green.
Box #2: Connect white of cable #2 to identified terminal on 1st 3-way switch (#3). Connect red & black of cable #2 to the remaining screws of 3-way switch #3. Next connect white of cable #3 to identified terminal of 2nd 3-way switch (#4), and connect black and red to remaining screws. Tie all grounds together and terminate to both switches.
At box #1, connect black from cable #1 to whites in cables #2 & #3, using a wirenut. Connect white in cable #1 to white in cable #4. Connect black and red in cable #2 to 3rd 3-way switch (#1) and connect black and red in cable #3 to 4th 3-way switch (#2). Connect black in cable #4 to identified terminal of 3-way switch #1, and connect red in cable #4 to identified terminal on 3-way switch #2. Tie all grounds together and to the switches
Turn off the computer before you begin making connections.
Make sure the cable modem is up and running with your service before you
attempt to make the computer connection.
2
Connect the coaxial cable from the wall outlet into the back
of the cable modem where it is marked "Cable" and has the male coaxial
connection. Use an extension coaxial cable if necessary to reach the
modem.
3
Connect the CAT 5 networking cable from the cable modem where
it is marked "PC" (or something similar) and connect the other end into
the back of your computer where the networking card is. These
connections are RJ-45 connections that look like oversized telephone
jacks. If you also have telephone service through your cable provider,
you will want to connect the telephone line into the port on the back of
the cable modem marked "Telephone."
4
Connect the power cord into the back of the cable modem and
plug it into a power strip with power surge protection. The modem should
power on by itself once it is plugged in. It will cycle through a power
on self test and then make the connection to your cable Internet
provider. Once the lights indicating power and cable are green, you are
ready for Step 5. It could take several minutes for the modem to connect
to your service provider.
5
Turn on the computer and test out your Internet connection. Should your computer still have a problem connecting to the web you may need to reset your cable modem. You will find a small recessed
button the size of the head of a ballpoint pen either on the back or
front of the modem. This button will be marked "Reset." Pushing it once
will allow the modem to reboot and reset all its connections. Turn off
the computer before resetting the modem to allow the computer to flush
all the networking connections out of its memory as well.
If the power goes out and your connection is not restored when it comes
back on, always reboot the devices in this order: cable modem first,
computer second.
Keep the cable modem where it can get proper ventilation.
Call your cable Internet provider if you get frequent interruptions to
your cable Internet service and rebooting the modem does not solve the
problem.
What do you mean? Do you want to connect or add another tv to that cable box?
Like two TVs connected to one cable box. If so, on the back of the cable box you have three different ways to connect a tv from, through AV cable, component cables and coaxial cable.
If the main tv is connected by coaxial, the second tv can be connected thru AV or Component cables..
You will need to have a VCR with a cable connection on it. You will need to remove the cable connection(if connected) on the TV and connect it to the "cable in" connection on the VCR. Then the coaxiel cable will connect from the "cable out" connection to the cable connection on the television. You will then need to turn the channel on the TV either to channel 3 or 4. Then turn on the VCR and you should be able to watch a tape on the VCR. If your VCR does not have a cable connection on it then you will need to buy an adapter that turns the cable connector into RCA style jacks.
You are supplied with a Composite
AV cable which would typically look like the below image
Connect the AV Multi Out Connector
to the socket on the back of your PS3 Console.
Match the colors of the Jacks with
the connectors on the TV which says "Video in".
Connecting with an HDMI
Cable:
HDMI cable is not supplied with the PS3. You need to purchase it
seperately. This cable would enhance the audio-video quality of your
TV.
Just connect one end of the
connector to the HDMI OUT connector socket on the back of the console
Connect the other end to the
socket on the back of your TV which says HDMI IN.
Connecting with an
Optical cable:
You need to purchase an Optical cable if you wish to connect your PS3
console through a digital audio device (Home theater, AV receiver
etc.,). You need to connect Video ouput seperately with a help of Video
output cable (HDMI, AV Cable etc.,)
Connect one end of the optical
cable to "Audio Out" socket on the console
Connect the other end to the audio
receiver.
Note: You can also connect your console to the
Internet to use the Playstation 3 internet capabilities. Here's how
you do it:
The Playstation 3 only supports 10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX and 1000BASE-T type
networks. It needs a High speed internet connection. Do not connect it
to a standard telephone connection or cables that are not supported.
It might cause a malfunction or damage to the system.
