Most panasonics are dark printers. You may get some relief by using Spicer brand paper- 30% darker print.- Ross

Hello, I hava a problem with our KX-B530. The indication for the cause "screen does not move" is blinking in the error indicator field. When i'm pressing the copy buttons nothing happens but...

Hi, on the bottom of your screen- just hidden inside the lower plastic trim, should be a black felt tag that lets the sensor know where the page should stop. Sometimes these curl up and fall off. You should see that at least one tag is on one of the screens. Mark on the plastic frame where that black felt stops with your finger or a bit of sticky tape. Turn off your machine and move the screen by hand. You can tell where it should stop for the next page as usually the screen has some minor rounded folds where it sits on the rollers.
When in position- use a permanent black pen to draw a small 1cm high by 3cm wide black box as low as possible on the screen where the old tag fell off. It may still be there rolled up- you could then reglue it if it is there.
Sometimes no felt is visible, but the previous glue/sticky gives you a clue- usually about 5cm to the left of centre you will find it. If your put the permanent pen in the wrog place, metho will remove it. If you are worried- try a w/b pen first. Perhaps only a small part of ther felt is missing.- Ross

Middle of screen doesn't print

I just had the same problem and believe it or not the printer was not latched closed properly on one side! The fault indicator was not showing 'P' so it would appear that the printer was latched closed properly but alas I checked several times and found that the printer could be closed but from time to time would not latch closed fully on one side but presumably the micro-switch inside was still changing state and indicating that it was in fact closed properly.

Panaboard KX-B530

I had the same problem on mine.I found it was due to the vertical height of an aluminum window plate, that is attached in front of the CCD optical sensor box, this box is located inside the back aluminum enclosure.

You have to unscrew the back cover and slide it out sideways, be carefull becasue the back cover is heavy and you don't want that falling on someones toes. Also there is some strong adhesive tape holding the cover to the enclosure so you'll have to pry on it a bit to pull the tape loose.

Once you have the cover off, you will be able to see the optical sensor box that is on the far side where the two guard bars (the flat aluminum bars that hold the back panel in place) the two guard bars meet on the one side Like a V.

Right where the bars meet and the V, you should be able to see the small optical box that has a small **** on the face of it and has two small screws on each side of this **** or "window". This is the Window for the optical sensor to pick up the image it is scanning which is a reflection on a mirror that is located on the opposite side of the enclosure. This mirror is about the size of a standard classroom meter stick and it reflects the scribbles of the panaboard surface as the canvas rolls around durring the scanning phase.

If you uncrew the two small screws that are on each side of the Optical sensor window, you will notice that this Window plate will be able to slide back and forth. Adjut this window plate hight and try printing another page and see how the image looks. If the Black bars are bigger then you have moved the plate the wrong way. Readjust and try again. Once you make the proper adjustments the black bars will no longer appear.

Well, this is what fixed mine, so hopefully this will help you.
