Hi, i just recently upgraded my OS from winXP to win7. However, after installing win7 i couldn't get any sound from my pc. Device manager says that the driver is working fine. I checked the settings of sound under control panel (hardware and sound) and I found only one option.. only digital audio (S/PDIF). I know i should choose speakers but then again it only shows digital audio. i also did windows update and tried to download the latest driver for my sound but nothing solve the issue. Please help... thanks!!

Go to control panel then hardware and sound then go to manage my sound devices under that will find playback under that you will have to click on speakers(single click) and and then the configure option gets activated then you have the option to check the speaker functionality and also you can go to sound tab select a sound and click on test to check it

Is it disabled? Have you Upgraded the OS recently? Did it work before the upgrade? Open Device Manager, is it there?

I am running win 7 & when tried to install xp its showing compatibility problem . pl reply

Remember.... the OS compatibility is only lower to upper...not upper to lower....i.e.....
Win7 is higher than WinXP....so u cant run / install WinXP using Win7...but u can do the otherway round....i.e...1st u can install WinXP in C: drive, then let the machine start, once u get to WinXp dekstop then install Win7 in D: drive...(it's called Dual Boot)...so on the boot screen u can choose which OS to work with when the PC starts....
all the best
pls revert back...and kindly leave a rating and feedback to this solution...it will help me become a "Guru" here on Fixya....

I am recently upgrade win7 hp nx9110 audio output device not installed msg getting how to resolve

Ok this is kind of common with Windows 7. Although everyone thinks its new its really not just a fairly bug free OS. The HP models running Win7 actually are using the Vista or XP driver for audio. I just ran into that issue a few months ago when upgrading a Pavillian model.
