No connection The answering macine works as the base functions Ok but all the handsets just say connecting... and stay that way. The system was installed 3 months ago and worked till a few days ago.

    my phones say connecting all the time no dial tone in three rooms except for one roon only. I have to go to that room to pick up the phone to answer or make calls

I recently changed my service to Vonage and had the problem of the 2 handsets v-tech 6772 model registering only as "searching....." and neither the vtech or the instruction manual gave info on how to deal with this problem.
Eventually what I did was unplug the power source from the main base phone for about a minute, then reconnected it. The two handsets immediately synchronized and the problem was resolved.

I have charged the base and the two hand sets for 48 hrs. This is a new unit. No dial tone/communication to any unit.

1st-check the intercom function of the units. No intercom recheck the battery connections ,look for a clear tape on them & remove. Recharge batteries.2nd- Intercom OK. Check base connection to wall phone jack. Interconnect phone cable may be bad. Good luck. Have a nice day.

I have a vtech cordless answering system ( CS6829 ) I CAN'T GET A DIALTONE. WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?

Check the phone line is connected to the correct socket in the base unit firstly, then if that's ok, if you have another corded phone handy, plug that in and check the incoming phone line. If that's not got a dial tone the line is broken.
If that's all ok, is the volume on the handset turned up? Does it have a signal in range of the base unit? Is the handset paired to the base station also?

3) On handset, press OK button. Then wait until the handset display changes as follows.

It said base no power

Remove then replace the batteries from the hand set. You should now get dial tojo.

Check the Battery on the Handset. remove the pwr frm the base unit n connect aft 30 sec. aft this if it still says the same msg, then the handset needs to be replaced.
