Pinseeker 1500 Figures in readings are not showing in full black figures, some are partially showing. This appears to be an intermittant fault and I suspect that it may be related to heat or brightness levels. Battery has been replaced.

get the on screen menu on the screen
scroll around till you see aspect ratio and click on that use the buttons to change ( you will see the changes on the screen)
click ok and exit when satisfied
Fir aspect ration to change there can be a few reasons
some tv stations produce movies in the wrong ratio and it shows up for the movie as black edges or tall figures or fat figures ( change channel to verify)
or there can be a fault occurring in the board of the set that will not hold preset aspect ratios

A flag is a hard object to get a reading on. It constantly moves and the sound or light waves (depending on the model) will not be reflected consistantly. Clean the sender lens and the receiver lens and install new batteries. Recalibrate the unit using something stationary, like a FLAT wall.

The rangefinder is out of alignment. Vibration, dropping these units make small mirrors inside move slightly. Over time the receiver cannot see what the transmitter puts out. Bushnell can fix, 4-5 weeks w/o unit.

If when you look through the eyepiece and see some lite yellowish, lite greenish, oily looking wiggles, (sometimes black) spots you have thermal burns on the LCD display. This happens when the eyepiece cap isn't used and sunlight damages the surface of the display. The unit was left pointing skyward for too long. Most players take off the cap and don't use it. Bad decision. Bushnell can repair but, about $80+shipping......4-6 weeks without unit

LoB =Low Battery condition

This will happen will new heavy duty batteries also. They don't generate enough current to operate the laser properly. Use alkaline batteries only. (pg.4-para 2 of the manual)

All these units need an alignment....Vibration and dropping are slow death to Pinseekers.

There is an adjustment ring bewteen the eye piece and the body. Make sure the white ines are lined up and it should come back into focus.

This is what happens to Pinseekers when the eyepiece cap in not used. Sunlight is focused through the lens right on the surface of the Liquid Crystal Display.(LCD) The heat generated burns into the surface of the display. The black spot happens when the pinseeker was left pointing skyward, when the sun is high, for a hour or so. The LCD can be replaced. I would have it aligned if it needs it. Mail it in to bushnell for repairs. mtg
