Sony Walkman Professional WMD6C for spare parts or for repair. Complete and mechanically sound (including motor). Circuit board sound. Slight cosmetic wear/tear on the casing and some dust. Buttons, dials, switches okay. LED display okay. Door/hinges okay. Heads okay. New wheel inside, in 2002. This sells mainly for approximately and often more than GBP£100 used on eBay (working). It did work and then it 'died', and it has been in storage since. It could be a very small and simple problem. A rare and sought after machine. E-mail me an offer. My Sony Walkman Professional WM-D6C will turn on but the take-up spindle just slowly inches the tape along in short bursts, not a continious action.

The power is on but the motor will not turn the tape drive. Does anyone know a good repair shop?

Hmm, when you press play, can you feel the motor turning, do the spindles turn on fast forward or rewind? If so you may have one of two problems. First check to see if the cue button is is depressed. If it is jammed, the deck will FF and RR but won't play. If it's not that, but the motor still spins, the motor is no longer making contact with the flywheel. If you have a repair manual, dismantle the deck and check out the motor contact

Sony Walkman cassette tape player operating at slower speed

If this is the WMD6C then it is servo locked and can be fine tuned with the pitch control on the back of the unit just turn the switch to on then adjust to preferred speed.

Plays too fast

WMD6C has a pitch control on the back of the unit that can change the speed of the tape, so switch it off, but if that is not the problem then inside the unit it has a servo set speed pot on the main board.

Tape fails to return to cassette when cassette removed.

I'm an repairer of electronic and micromeccanaca I have repaired many walkman analog (WM-D6C, wm-dd9, etc.. Improve your performance if required and if possible) and many like dat walkman Sony TCD-D3. I just started to repair even for those who come out of Italy.
