Question about Kal Equipment Battery Tester - KAL Equipment

1 Answer

We have a Battery load tester Model 4260. When applying the load nothing happens. The element does not get warm. The gage does not register. We took the cover off. There are no visible breaks in the element. With a ohm meter we get continuity touching both posts on the same side of the switch. (both ends) When you hold the switch there is continuity from posts on opposite ends of the switch. There is continuity from the switch through the element. Not sure what is going on. The tester is not used alot and is just over a year old. So I guess it is out of warranty.

SOURCE: i need an instruction manual for a kal model 4260

I'll tell ya, it sure took some digging to find that one. Evidently KAL Equipment was acquired by Actron.

I have a 2007 madza3 2.0 battery is good but when you turn the key it just clicks

Clicking sound is the solenoid activated starting switch pulling in, then dropping out because of low voltage when the starter motor is connected electrically. When the contact drops out, the load on battery is reduced, voltage rises again enough to pull the solenoid switch back in and click. This happens four or five times a second and thus hear the "clicking" sound.
Only a load tester will indicate if battery is weak. Simple voltage testers only show open circuit voltage.
Load testers usually apply a 50 Amp load for 30 seconds. That 30 second voltage must then be compared to the battery's CCA rating, which gives you an true indication of battery's condition.
I suspect a load test will show the present battery to be weak or bad. If battery is five or more years old, it owes you nothing.
Best deals on new batteries is WalMart with free installation.

I drove my 2005 Dodge Stratus from one parking to the other without an issue. Two hours later, when I turned the key nothing would happen. Battery is good, interior and headlights turn on, but radio

maybe a bad ignition switch or your timing belt, also try turning your steering wheel back and forth while trying to start it.make sure you are actualy in park or that your steering linkage is working and not disconnected under the hood

My gas gauge is stuck how do I fix it on a 1970 olds delta 88

if you disconnect the wire at the sensor or down from the sensor were you can get to it the gage should register empty and if you disconnect the ground it should register full. if nothing happens then the gage on the dash is bad, if gage moves the fuel level sensor in the tank is bad.

What should I do I turn the key and all the dash light come on the way they should but when I turn the key to start it I get Nothing

If you have checked that battery with a voltmeter then that is a false check as you have to have the battery checked with a load tester . Batteries can have good voltage until you hit the starter then they fail completely. So ensure that the battery is good internally.

Ve.comso heres my issue: when i turn the key most of the time nothing happens. but sometimes my dash lights up and then the truck starts. i recently had to boost the truck; could i have fried the starter...

Check the battery terminals first to make sure they are tightened and not corroded, if you have a way to check the battery that would be good [ you may have a voltage gauge on the dash, when you first turn on the key it should register at least 12 volts, and not drop below 9 volts when cranking ], a load tester is the best way. If all these things are ok, then I would suspect the igntion switch is faulty as it seems you have no power to anything at times.

The breadmaker stoppes after kneeding ,nothing happens,no heat either the heating element will not even get warm?

There is a stage after kneading where the machine seems dormant and no or almost no heat is applied. This is the "Rise" stage. Do you have a copy of the manual that goes with your machine?

Turn ignition on,nothing happens, battery is fully charged.

How do you know battery is fully charged?? Do you have a load tester or at least a volt meter to test it?? Seriously, the battery may appear to be charged and show 12-13Volts on a meter, but fail when placed under load.

Check also the bolts on the battery terminals.... they may be loose.

Do you get any display on the dash? EWS error??
