I have a Fuji A170 digicam. I use UNIROSS rechargeable Ni-Mh batteries. My problem is after inserting 2 fully charged batteries, the power drains off after clicking only 8-10 photos. Pls help.

Digital cameras are famously demanding on batteries, and the early Fuji ones were notorious. Ni-MH rechargeables are definitely the way to go, but you don't mention the capacity rating of the rechargeables you are using.

NiMH batteries with a capacity of 2700mAH or more are available, and these will obviously last longer per charge than those rated 1600mAH or so. However, all things come to an end, and while Ni-MH cells are supposed to be rechargeable hundreds of times under ideal conditions, in real life they will lose a bit of capacity every time until they become a bit short of puff.

Can't use chargeable batteries

If your camera doesn't work with NiMH, then it's most likely that you have either one or more bad atteries, or your camera is defective. p. 6 from the user guide: "..Ni-MH batteries left unused in storage for long periods can become ?deactivated?. Also, repeatedly charging Ni-MH batteries that are only partially discharged can cause them to suffer from the ?memory effect?. Ni-MH batteries that are ?deactivated? or affected by ?memory? suffer from the problem of only providing power for a short time after being charged. To prevent this problem, discharge and recharge them several times using the camera?s ?Discharging rechargeable batteries? function. By repeating this cycle several times, the temporary reduction in performance caused by ?memory? or ?deactivation? can be remedied and the batteries can be restored to their original performance levels. ..."
