Turn on the console while pressing START on the joystick 1, wait 10 seconds, release START then reset the console. If nothing appears on the screen, the console is faulty and needs to be replaced. If the console starts, replace the Modchip.

Try inserting the disc in your computer. If it reads its fine. Then look if the Slus...... is compatible.maybe thats why it doesn't play. your ps2 must have an old bios system even if slim.

have you checked that the av cables are pluged in properly???

What video mode is the unit in>?
RGB or CyRyYy??
Should be RGB for your reg A/V cable

well its probly that that the specific problem is the games that dont work are probly scratch and or there not comptible with that software on your ps2...............there you go..................be good stay in school

make sure the game disc isnt dirty. also check the eye (game disc reader) to see if its dirty. if u cant see it (you probably wont b able to) then take it to a place like target or gamestop(GS). i reccomend GS.

Unlike the PS2 original, PS2 slim doesnt have a fan.
Playing it for 2 days, it most likely overheated and burnt something inside. I would return the console and get a replacement, if you have warrently.

usually, there is a problem with a ribbon cable of power/reset switch. Try using a replacement ribbon of the same type.

Hi NateQ, Sorry about no one paying attention to your problem for so long. I just got started about a month ago. I have been repairing video Game consoles for over a decade though. Your problem is that your slim has a melted down laser and lens assembly. The unit is dirty. You will need a new disc drive and a thorough cleaning to get it back in service. The problem about the power light is due to excessive dust buildup shorting out the components on the motherboard. The video output is also comprimised by dust and dirt. The disc spinning is possibly comprimised by hair wrapped around the disc drive spindle.
