I do not seem to be able to undo the filter on my whirlpool washing machine, does it just unscrew, or unscrew and pull. I can unscrew it, but it does not pull out.

Hi, Unplug the machine. Take a cake pan and put it under the handle for the filter. Unscrew counterclockwise slowly. Water will start to come out. When pan is partially full, retighten filter and dump water. Repeat until no more water comes out. Then completely unscrew filter and pull out and clean. Hope this helps.

My machine is displaying f02 and blinking. Does not finish a load.

The filter on your pump is probably clogged with lint and stuff. You have to remove the bottom front panel, 3 torx screws underneath. The panel will drop and come off. Drain off the excess water from the hose you see. The white filter cover is right in front. Get yourself a bunch of towels or a good big plastic bag to collect water. Unscrew the filter cover and twist the filter out. Clean out all the stuff and put it back in carefully.

A nice rating for the free help pl, thanks.

Hoover ultracare 1300 large load stopping mid cycle at a variety of different points and having to be manually stopped and started again at another point to complete the wash

Checkout your filter at the bottom of the machine, undo the bottom flap below the door, front. Plug off the wall mains socket. Be prepared for a lot of water so keep plastic bag, towels ready. Unscrew the plug you see to make water flow into bag; when all water has been disposed off, clean this filter & inside, refit carefully.

F2 code coming on several times during a wash

The filter on your pump is probably clogged with lint and stuff. You have to remove the bottom front panel, 3 torx screws underneath. The panel will drop and come off. Drain off the excess water from the drain pipe you see. The white filter cover is right in front. Get yourself a plastic bag to collect water. Unscrew the filter cover and twist the filter out. Clean out all the stuff and put it back in carefully. Check your pump too, comes after the filter.

Regarding 'suds', the junk in your filter could be affecting the thin tube going from the pump area to the 'pressure switch' near the controls. This should not be blocked, remove clip from top & blow into it (after cleaning out the filter). If blocked clear it out. Do not wait for filter to clog up. Check it now & then, according to usage.

How do you remove the filter for a Hoover washing machine Optima Nextra Model HNL 6166?

I included a link on Youtube to my Nextra where I show how I clean the filter (watch it from 08:55 onwords). Just remove the kick strip and unscrew (philips screwdriver needed) the little screw on the filter itself, then turn it anti-clockwise but while you're doing this make sure you insert the kick strip underneath to gather the residual water. Repeat this operation 3 o 4 times until the sump is totally empty, make sure you don't let the kick strip fill up too much otherwise you'll be spilling water all over the place, so just turn the filter clockwise everytime you want to stop the trickle of water. It's not too complicated and it won't be too messy if you follow these instructions carefully. Good luck ;-)

I have a Hoover Washer HNF 1617 that is leaking water underneath.

You may have the threads for that strianer cap crossed or its just loose. First, try tightening it if it still leaks use teflon tape or pipe dope to seal it. there isn't much pressure there...so it is definitly repairable. At worst you may need to replace the drain pump.
