I have a Samsung DLP HLN617WX/XAA. After turning off by itself, the three indicator lights were blinking... signifying a defective lamp. I've re-seated the old lamp several times with no change. I bought a new lamp and reset the lamp hours through the "service menu" with no change. My television is still turning itself off and still blinking the same indicator lights. What should I look at, next?
If the lamp is the problem then once you replace it make sure that ever thing is connected and it not any paper or plastic left in your tv the once you close your tv back make sure your tv is off use code mute 182 power and if the one dont work use menu 182 power go to option then lamp clear one you press enter turn tv off and let sit for 5 minutes and it will be reset if it dont reset then its not your lamp
Tape down the blue killswitch just inside the lamp compartment, it won't turn on unless it's in the down position
To bring up the service menu, turn your TV off. On your Samsung TV remote, press Mute 1 8 2 Power. This WILL invoke 'service mode' and invoking this WILL reset all your custom picture and source name settings. I don't know the specific menu to find the lamp reset option, but I believe it is in the first menu context.
