the problem with this tv is the main regulator , u can buy this repair kit by the chasis # or by the model # the best store to buy this unit is from union electronics , just look on the back of the unit and see what chasis it is ctc169 , or ctc197 or 95 , 95 and 97 are the same ,

you can try just replacing the resistor, but I'm afraid you have other issues too because of this burnt component

what is the issue? The flyback is the transformer that generates the high voltage needed for the picture tubes. the itc222 rca chasis can have problems with flyback but they are notoruis to trouble shoot. if if it is you flyback then you will possible have other issue like the horizontal ouput transistor. I work with these alot here at the shop. what is set doing .. does the led flash .. give me some more information and lets see if we can fix this

It sounds like the flyback is actually defective. The set wont power up at all correct?

Flyback is just one of many problems that may cause the rca itc22 chasis to shutdown. the fact that the green light flashes idicates that your processor is recieving power and that the processor is seeing a problem. DId you chech the horizontal output transitor. when u replace flybacks thats the first thing u check. there is a number of items that can shut it down. Technicians have special tools that can read the processor and find the errors that shut it down. the main board can cause problems also it the data becomes corrupt.

The lead going from the flyback to that other device is a voltage divider or splitter as they're incorrectly referred to... To remove the leads press down firmly, twist and then pull up...
