I want to format my laptop but, when I power up my laptop it directly goes to windows xp screen, please support me

If you dont know how...this is the last thing you should be doing
assuming that you realize formatting you had disk will result in a laptop without an OS (ie windows) just an error saying "invalid system disk"
go to dos by typing CMD into the run command
type
diskpart [enter] select disk 0 [enter] select partition 1 [enter] format [enter]

I m lookin for installing dual boot with Vista ultimate n Windows 7, gotta dvd for both, any help??

If you wan to fresh install, here you can do ::
Try following steps.
Restart the PC, Press Delete for some time
It will lead you to BIOS setting
Go to the Boot Priority menu,
select DVD ROM as First Boot and HDD as Second Boot

Now Insert your Operating system CD: Vista Ultimate
Restart the PC and when screen says " Press any key to continue"
hit "enter"
Let the CD load and then select New Installation
Format the drive by pressing L, and then create three partition , 100 GB for Vista Ultimate, 100 GB for Windows 7 and rest for data.
Hit enter and let os Load

After complete OS loading, system will restart and again you will see " Press any key to continue"
DO NOT PRESS ANY KEY.

OS will boot and register it with microsft. create login and then remove OS DVD,

Insert the Windows 7 DVD
restrt the system, Hit enter when it says " enter any key to continue"
select new installation, point to the earlier created partition for windows 7 installation
proceed with same procedure.
after complete installation, when you restart the pc, you will find both the BOOT entries at booting.
do not forget to load device drivers on both the OS.

Enjoy!

My computer is stuck in safemode. it load in asfe mode even if i put normal mode on?

Ok at boot up press F8, when the Menu comes up, choose Safe Mode, but this time instead of going to the desktop, choose System Restore, follow instructions, and when the Calender type window comes up, simply choose a time BEFORE, the time it went faulty. This should completely restore you to working again. As long as there are NO other problems. support.microsoft.com/kb/306084 -

Gigaset 567 wireless router. unable to connect from desk top to laptop

try to disable the antivirus software and try to connect again, if this doesnt work try to go to safe mode w/ networking

to go to safemode w/ networking you can try this options:

when using windows XP, Vista and Windows 7. try to restart the computer as soon as the computer turns on immediately strike F8 key continuously, in advance menu option or advance boot option use the arrow key to highlight safemode w/ netwokring and hit enter ( if you see you operating system just hit enter again )

or try this one:

for windows XP,
click start
click run, type in msconfig
in msconfig click the tab for Boot.ini click safeboot at the bottom and choose network, hit enter
click apply and ok
restart the computer

for windows vista and windows 7
click start button or the pearl
type in msconfig in the start search and hit enter
click the Boot tab
click the safeboot and choose networking
click apply and ok
restart the computer

i hope this helps
Pls rate my resolution thanks!!

Our acer aspire one has xp on it and when it comes on the computer says it is missing the NTLDR, what is it and how do we fix this, this is only 5 months old

NTLDR:(use with NT, 2000, or XP not 98)
Short for NT loader, NTLDR is a program loaded from the hard drive boot sector2.gif that displays the Microsoft Windows NT startup menu and helps Microsoft Windows NT load.

Try the fix below and see if that straightens it out....this may be hardware related if this fix does not work as in Bad HDD.

Windows Start-up Errors
Step one, you need a Windows Installation CD. If you only have a recovery disk set like the ones from HP or Compaq they will not do what you need done. Under normal circumstances however, you can use a Dell disk because the Operating system is on a stand-alone disk. All retail versions are also acceptable as well as upgrade disks. For a rule of thumb, if the disk has the Microsoft hologram it should work.
While the computer is first starting up and you see the manufacturers splash screen, tap F12 (some computers it’s F9, others it may be another key, you may have to watch and see if the computer lists the key strokes for getting to the boot menu. If you still cannot find it, boot into the BIOS settings and change your boot order there. Save your settings and exit, the computer will now seek the cd rom as its boot source first.
Place your Windows disk in the computer and start it up. When you see the test at the top of the page “Press Any Key To Boot From CD” Just hit the space bar to activate. The next screen you will see will most likely be a Windows setup screen, when you see this press the “R” key to get to the recovery console. It will get there, it may take a little time, patience. Once it loads you will be given a choice of Windows installations, there should only be one, if there are more, always pick number one. It may ask for an administrators password, if you have not set this particular password, then just leave it blank and press enter. The next prompt you see is:
C:\Windows>
You need to type the following:
cd \
hit enter. Pay close attention to the spacing between the characters. There is a space between the character “d” and the “\”
You are now at the ROOT of the drive, this is where basic commands can be given and changed. You should now see the following:
C:\>
Now type the following:
CHKDSK /R
Hit the enter key.
The chkdsk /r command also includes the P command and will also look for lost recoverable information in bad sectors.
There are occasions depending on how corrupt the system is, that this process could take several hours, so be patient with it.
Now, after chkdsk has run type the following:
FIXBOOT
Hit the enter key.
It may prompt you with a warning, that’s ok, just continue. When fixboot has finished, type: EXIT hit enter and windows will reboot. When the system reboots, tap the F8 key during this time and you will see the multi-boot menu come up. Scroll to the title “Last Know Good Configuration” and hit the enter key. If you were having some simple drive errors this should have fixed them.

try thease steps 1. Insert a XP CD (any XP install CD will do for this procedure) and boot up.
2. When asked, boot to the CD by hitting the Enter key.
3. After a short while, a menu will appear.
Select R for repair.
4. Next, you will be asked which Windowsmag-glass_10x10.gif installation to use. Hit the 1 key on your keyboard and then Enter (assuming it is the C drive).
5. You may be asked for an administrator password. At which point you will need to enter it or hit Enter if their is none.
At the resulting C:\Windows> prompt in the recovery console , type 'CD System32' (without the quotes).
6. Next type:
'copy userinit.exe wsaupdater.exe'.
7. Exit and reboot normally. You should now be able to logon. But you're not done yet!
8. Run regedit from the Run line.
9. Find the Userinit key in:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\
10. Modify the entry:
C:\WINDOWS\System32\wsaupdater.exe
so that it reads:
C:\WINDOWS\System32\userinit.exe
