replace the fuser will fix that. Or if you want to stip it down check the lamps and if their ok change the thermistor and thermostat. But your better off just replacing the whole unit
If the code is C6400, then just follow the procedure showing in the images below.
If the code is C6000, then you have to remove the fuser unit and check the thermistor, the thermal cut out and the heater lamp. If are able to fix the problem-damage, then follow the procedure below to reset the service call.
Zero-cross signal error,While fuser heater ON/OFF control is performed, the zero-cross signal is not input within 3 s. The problem is; Defective PWB, replace the engine PWB or power source PWB and check for correct operation.
Error C6400 appears in Kyocera FS118 when Zero crossing signal problem occurs i.e when the engine PWB doesnt detect the zero crossing signal. This can occur due to --
#1 Poor contact in the connector terminals. #2 Defective power supply PWB. #3 Defective engine PWB.
To reset it from Mainatince mode turn the power switch off and open the front cover. Now, turn the power switch on and press the system menu/counter key to enter the maintenance mode.
1. Press the enter key. A selection item appears. 2. Select Execute using the up/down cursor keys. 3. Press the enter key. The fusing problem data is initialized. (Four service calls, namely C6000, C6020, C6050, and C6400 are reset.) 4. After this is complete press the back key. The indication for selecting a maintenance item No. appears.
