You need a purchase a new cable. I assume your HP pavilion is under 5 years old. And you should have a white DVI port in the back for a monitor. If you do have that connector, then all you need is a DVI - HDMI cable, make sure the DVI will be to the computers end and HDMI to the monitor.

This display uses a capacitive touchscreen. It relies on the conductivity of your finder work. It may be that it has lost sensitivity and only works when there is a path to ground through your body. If this is the case then the touchscreen will need replacing.
Solution for many "jittery" or "shaky" or "shivering" monitor problems...
Be sure there are no power AC cords in direct contact with or very close to the monitor cable anywhere along its entire length. If no help, be sure the monitor and monitor cable are not very close to a wall that may have an AC power lines running in it. Also, be sure that you are using a "grounded" (3 prong) power cord, that is is not plugged into a "2 prong" adapter that eliminates the ground ("earth") prong, and be sure that your power circuit that you are plugged in to is properly grounded.
Why on earth would you want to install any MONITOR software??? What do you need it for??? Let Windows configure your monitor as Plug and Play, and then in desktop properties set the resolution you want.
go to say Radio Shack and purchace some Multi cored, (4 -6 core) Co-axial cable, this means you have 4 - 6 "Conductors" and use the shield for all the earths & negative power,. This will give you what you need. At a pinch, you could always get a single core, audio coax, and run 4 of them and tape, or zippy tie, into a bundle.
u need to either change the power cable of the monitor or go for a repair of the LCD. the power cable may have been spoilt most probably, use earthed sockets for ur PC and check lose connections. i myself had experienced this problem earlier due to improper earthing
please remember to turn the power off when you are doing this. the extra cable is probably a looped or joined cable. put it in a connector or solder it with tape and leave it behind the light fitting or in the terminal block. connect the same cables up in the active, neutral and earth. like for like. make certain the power is off when you do this.
