Hi, The PS3 has a built in wireless card. You need a broadband internet connection& a wireless router for it to work this way.
What hardware do you have? You wont be able to connect the PS3 to the internet if you only have a laptop with a wireless broadband card. this is to be used for one PC/laptop at a time. Sorry
you could query this with Verizon though i am sure they would agree, that it is to be used for one PC/laptop to access the internet.
I think you may find that this will be entirely your isp. do you have a particular broadband cap and have you used it all? have you tried it with any success with any other online multiplayer games? One thing you can try is to hardwire your ps3 to your router and see how you go
Yea the encryption codes can be an issue, but something elts you should check are the other devices you use on the network. Check the port settings and if possible (depending on your model of router you can create a dedicated port for the ps3. If another device tries to use the same port there will be conflicts, and another thing to think about is if you have a n-b-g capable router, devices using b and g will slow the speed of the routers send and recieve capabilities for ALL devices on the network, this can create lagg and boot you off from time to time.
well if its a wireless connection it just might not be a good one if its wired get another Ethernet cable but if wireless make sure its a linksy everything linksy that's the best and make sure your close enough to the wireless router if the problem still persist its the ps3 and you should get it replaced
Please go to www.linksys.com/download and download firmware version of your router. For manual upgrade call linksys at 18003267114 or check out other linksys numbers.

There is a way you can change the priority on your router so that the PS 3 will take networking requests before your notebook does.
If thats something your interested in let me know.
How many devices are running on your router?
Wired? Wireless?
