I've been looking as well for the lenticular screen for my Toshiba TZ50V61 projection tv.  My brother replaced his a few years ago thru searspartsdirect.com, but the part has been discontinued.  I've read that a frosted sheet of plexiglass will work so we will try doing this over the weekend.

I got a toshiba tv and cracked the screen on it wer do i get a new screen 4 cheap

pigdigger,

I have bad news for you, the total cost for the three screens you will need will be about $290.00. They can be obtained from http://www.encompass.com . Here are the part #s: Fresnel 23311898 $80.00, Lenticular 23311897 $120.00 and Protector 23311863 $90.00.

Installation is straight forward. Generally you have to remove the back top cover with the mirror attached. Then check under the bezel on the front, below the screen, for several screws. Remove the screen and lay it flat on the floor. Remove the screen hold in screws or clips. Remove the screen.

Assemble the new screens. Make sure they are in the correct order. Protector (on outside), Lenticular in the middle and the Fresnel on the inside. You will need to secure the screens together. Black cloth tape works well around the perimeter. Reinstall the screen into the frame and reassemble the unit. This should complete the job.

Thanks for using FixYa and for the great rating.

Toshiba rear projection screen

Hi Shaun. I just picked a new lenticular screen for Toshiba TZ50V61. I went to their Web-page and it showed me where there was Toshiba -based warranty shops according to Zip or area code. I went to one near my area and ordered a screen. It took three weeks to get to me and cost $170.00. I live in Canada so you might get one faster and cheaper.
