Fan switch broken, wires out when opened

The fan stopped working on my Hampton Bay Carriage House II fan/light. When I took the fan apart, the fan switch was cracked and wires were already pulled out. I purchased a replacement fan switch from home depot but don't know what wire to put where. Any suggestions?? Thanks

I took apart the wiring and I want to bypass the switch. I measured 120vac from two black wires. What do I hook up the red wire to. I did continiuty on the blue and red. What does the red wire go to in order to bypass the switch so that it is on all the time when plugged into the wall?

I bought the house with a Hampton Bay CP-42 model ceiling fan already in it. One day it stopped working, so I decided to take it apart to see if there were any loose wires. There were, but now I don't know what wires to connect to what. I have 1 black, 1 white, 1 blue and 1 green wire; and, I don't have any instructions.

I googled Hampton Bay Manufacturing and this is what I found:

Hampton Bay fans are manufactured by "King of Fans Manufacturing, FL". The contact number for them is 800-330-3267. ...
Maybe they can supply you with a wiring diagram.

WHAT TYPE OF REMOTE DO I USE FOR A HAMPTON BAY CARRIAGE HOUSE II 52 INCH CEILING FAN WITH LIGHT

If it was an add-on remote, then you probably can use any remote. If it came with a remote ,then you must find out what kind of receiver is in the fan.

Replaced a light switch for a ceiling fan. Switch

On the switch ... one wire goes to thefan or the light and the other wire goes to the power.

All white wires normally go together.

Zing ear switch from a hampton bay ceiling

Did you try Home Depot, Lowes, or any lighting supply store. It's a pretty common item, so they should all stock it

Need wiring instructions

The wiring is pretty self explainitory with the wireless receiver. As for installing the receiver; get the wiring done and then zipstrip the receiver to the side of the motor mount bracket. Just make sure that you put it where it clears the canopy (motor cover).

Hampton Bay Carriage House II

I went ahead and hooked up the wires, and then zip stripped the wireless receiver to the side of the motor mount. Works fine and fits inside the canopy (motor cover).
