1. Check user documentation for supported CPUs for your system.
2. If 2.0GHz CPU is supported on your system, you don't need any additional software.
3. I would upgrade the BIOS firmware first. It might have an additional CPU support.
4. Read information from you old CPU. Exemple: 1.4GHz/256/400. 1.4GHz is a speed of your CPU. 256 is a 256k cache, and 400 is 400MHz BUS speed. In general you can boost speed to 2.0GHz or more and cache to 512k, just keep your BUS speed to 400
5. Post your system model or your motherboard model. That information would help in determining the maximum speed of the CPU for your system.

Good lick!

Can i up grade my single core cpu pen4 550 3,4GHz to a Quad core or dual core either one would help

Depends on the socket type.. Socket 423 and 478 do not support core duo or quad core processor types. However, if you have LGA 775 (aka socket T) your motherboard will support the following:
Intel Pentium 4 (2.60 - 3.80 GHz)
Intel Celeron D (2.53 - 3.60 GHz )
Intel Pentium 4 Extreme Edition (3.20 - 3.73 GHz)
Intel Pentium D (2.66 - 3.60 GHz)
Pentium Extreme Edition (3.20 - 3.73 GHz)
Pentium Dual-Core (1.40 - 3.33 GHz)
Intel Core 2 Duo (1.60 - 3.33 GHz)
Intel Core 2 Extreme (2.66 - 3.20 GHz)
Intel Core 2 Quad (2.33 - 3.00 GHz)
Intel Xeon (1.86-3.40 GHz)
Intel Celeron (1.60 - 2.40 GHz)

How to upgrade RAM of Compaq SRS 110 NX

You can buy a RAM from your computer from any dealer. You have to check its model, suppose DDR 2 or DDR 3 as same as your previous installed ram. You have to also check that which processor's speed it supports. e.g.- 2.9 Ghz, 3.0 Ghz etc. You can also simply give your CPU to any dealer, then they upgrade your RAM.

Can I upgrade my CPU to an Intel Core 2 duo 1.7

You are basically limited to what was optional on the model. So you can only upgrade to one of the following cpus:

Intel Pentium M 745 (1.8-GHz) with 400-MHz front
side bus (FSB)
Intel Pentium M 735 (1.7-GHz) with 400-MHz FSB
Intel Pentium M 725 (1.6-GHz) with 400-MHz FSB
Intel Pentium M 710 TJ85 (1.4-GHz) with 400-MHz FSB;
operates at a lower temperature than other processors
Intel Celeron M 340 (1.5-GHz) with 400-MHz FSB
Intel Celeron M 330 (1.4-GHz) with 400-MHz FSB

And you are limted to 2gb of ram max on this model.

Upgrading my laptop's processor from celeron 540 to 560

Hi there,
Fan cooler for Celeron is usually the same for 540 and 560 Ghz, there should be no need to replace cooling system if you pass from 540 and 560
Whenever you operates on CPU and cooling system you need to monitor CPU temperature using Bios or a dedicated software. Here is a good software to check CPU temperature and Fan activity: SpeedFan Download.
Regarding the RAM, some seller like this one (UK seller).sells Trascends 2 GB modules, seller says they work on 4315, you can eventually ask them if there is any issue with bios version and if you need to upgrade bios.
Remember, CPU upgrade on a laptop is not a simple operation, be careful if you do it yourself, as it is easy to damage the laptop when taking it apart. Regarding RAM, main risk is incompatibility, If you live in UK the seller above guarantee compatibility with Acer 4315, double check by sending them an email before buying.
