My Optoma h31 recently died. The bulb was approaching end-of-life, 1,600 hours. Unit started self shutting down. I replaced the bulb. It came up once, then died. Now no green flash light. Checked the power source. Seems fine. Bulb was good. Re-seeded the bulb cover to insure connections made. No luck. I'm guessing needs repair by specialist. How much should I expect to pay? How much to ship... Thanks in advance - Scott

SOURCE: No picture

Hi, Possibly either of 2 reasons: 1. Your player is not sending any signal to the Optima meaning it is the one in question and not the projector; or 2. Your Optima lost its input signal, go through the signal source selection menu, try manual selection & set it to where your source/player is connected. Hope this works out for you, if not pls post again . Good luck and kind regards.

SOURCE: can I buy and replace

There is no "color wheel" in these units. These projectors use a series of LCD panels and filters to create the picture as far as I know. That optical unit will not be cheap. WHat is the rpoblem with the unit that leads you to believe this needs to be replaced?

SOURCE: Optoma h31 was unable to power up

It can have two problems. One is that the lamp has gone out and needs replaced. Refer to your troubleshooting section in your manual. Also can be bad capacitors in the power supply circuitry or Voltage Reg. IC. Either should be left to competent repair individual.

SOURCE: optoma h31 stopped suddenly. I replaced the bulb,

The little metal plate on the projector next to the bulb housing is not fully depressed (pressed down). The plastic cover is suppose to have a plastic piece protruding from it which is to depressed the metal plate when the cover is placed back on. If the metal piece is not pressed down, the projector will not light.

HD20 switches on by itself

Hello,

the projector will shut off when the lamp hour count reaches expected lamp life. It will restart only long enough to read the hour meter again then shut it's self off again. You can manually reset the hour meter to continue using the same lamp. Good luck.......

Optoma H31 - Turns itself off !

sounds like the projector lamp to me. the rated hours are always up to the published hours and never "this is what you will achieve." I would suggest getting a lamp as you will need one shortly by the sounds of it. In many cases the projector does this as it is programmed to protect itself from the lamp shattering inside the projector. Let me know if you would like a quotation for a lamp as we ship internationally. Regards Kevin Andreassend. http://www.iceav.co.nz [email protected] +64-9-4142348

Optoma H56 - turns off just after start up.

It's not a short, the blub is near the end of it's life ~ the optoma is designed to detect when the blub is about to blow and shuts itself down. Turning the projector upside down or right side up usually only gives you a brief reprieve (some have reported a modest amount of extra time gained) on the blub ~ but in the end it's on it's way out and the projector will shut down again.

Optoma hd72 bulb turning off

This is NOT a bulb problem unless your "lamp" LED is lit, which you say it is not. Many people have reported this problem with the Optoma 72. You can send it in for warranty service (it has a 2-year warranty) to get the lamp controller chip replaced, but the problem may recur. Optoma does not appear to have a permanent solution to this problem. My projector has broken exactly like yours TWICE in a year. I haven't even needed to replace the original bulb yet. :(
