My tv is a dynex and everything is hooked up to the cable box but my tv doesn't make any sounds. I turned all the volumes up.

Check in the tv\'s menu, there should be an option for audio. In that section there should also be an option that says internal speakers or somthing like that. Make sure its turned on.

When re-tuning, won't hold any stations at all when telly turned off. can get 76 digital stations

It sounds as though the tv's backup battery has failed. Unplug the tv and remove the rear of the case. Have an exlporitorylook about to see if you can find something which looks like a battery. On philips sets, they tend to be wrapped in plastic so look to see if anything which matches this description can be removed. If you dont feel confident then get a repair tech to take a look. The battery module itself shouldn't be too expensive, if you can find and remove the battery then look to see if there are any markings on it which you can use to search for.

REMEMBER

Even though the tv is switched off, it can still hold fatal charges of electricity

mess with it at your own risk.

How do I preset the tuner for radio stations. I've never had a problem doing this with any other stereo. But what I think should work isn't!

Not very specific. Do you have the manual?

The following is from a VSX-03TXH manual. It ain't pretty but it may help.

I'm posting it in multiple parts due to space contraints.

Chapter 6:

Using the tuner

Listening to the radio

The following steps show you how to tune in to FM and

AM radio broadcasts using the automatic (search) and

manual (step) tuning functions. If you already know the

frequency of the station you want, see Tuning directly to a

station below. Once you are tuned to a station you can

memorize the frequency for recall later-see Saving

station presets below for more on how to do this.

1 Press the FM/AM button to select the tuner.

2 Use the FM/AM button to change the band (FM or

AM), if necessary.

Each press switches the band between FM and AM.

3 Tune to a station.

There are three ways to do this:

Automatic tuning

To search for stations in the currently selected band,

press and hold TUNE ?©/?? for about a second. The

receiver will start searching for the next station,

stopping when it has found one. Repeat to search for

other stations.

Manual tuning

To change the frequency one step at a time, press

TUNE ?©/??.

High speed tuning

Press and hold TUNE ?©/?? for high speed tuning.

Release the button at the frequency you want.

Improving FM stereo sound

If the TUNED or STEREO indicators don't light when

tuning to an FM station because the signal is weak, press

the MPX button to switch the receiver into mono

reception mode. This should improve the sound quality

and allow you to enjoy the broadcast.

Using Neural THX

This feature uses Neural Surround™, THX® technology to

achieve optimal surround sound from FM radio.

• While listening to FM radio, press AUTO/DIRECT for
Neural THX listening.

My radio won't play tv channel 4 sound or any other! please tell me if im doing something wrong!

Since June of last year all television broadcasting switched over to digital signals. Without a converter your radio will not receive any of the stations sound channels. Impossible to modify, only a converter will bring the stations in.

I cannot put in tv stations manually the auto search doesn't pick

cant help you there, Most TV's have a little flap you lift up to access a little wheel and switch that has 4 regions you start at 1 and roll the wheel till a station is found and is cleasr to view. then move on to the next set of switch and wheel to rotate that to get a different channel. If your TV does not have this manual input then you can only do it from either the remote or some buttons on the TV itself

How to get from standard TV to Cable TV?

Should use remote to bring up the menu. Go to channel search and it will ask you if for ant or cable. This is where you will select for antenna or cable.
