If the line is vertical in nature then most likely then the plasma display panel is bad and won't be worth fixing because of cost. If the line is horizontal then the issue might be a lower or upper Y-buffer module.

How to set convergence on Projection TV ' s

I have given an general explanation on most projection TV ' s

  1. Enter the menu on your TV. Use the remote control and bring up the menu.
  2. Choose "Convergence." This may be under "Picture Settings," "Function" or "Advanced Options."
  3. Select a color. You will have red, green and blue to choose from. Do each one, starting with red.
  4. Press "Enter." A crosshair pattern will appear on your screen.
  5. Adjust vertically. If there is a horizontal red line visible, press the up or down arrow keys (or channel up or down) to adjust the convergence until the line is superimposed on the horizontal-center line of the white crosshair.
  6. Adjust horizontally. If there is a vertical red line visible, press left or right (or volume up or down) to adjust horizontally. Do this until the line is superimposed on the vertical line of the white crosshair.
  7. Save settings. It is important to save your settings when you are done, instead of simply exiting the menu.
  8. Repeat these steps for all colors.

My tv is a sanyo ds31590. I need to connect to an acer aspire 5253-bz692 in order to watch netflix. What cable do I need?

You'll need a VGA to Composite or Component Cable. Asuming you have RCA Composite/Component Connections on your TV.

I'll Look something like this:
funnyx_1.jpg VGA to Composite
or
funnyx_2.jpg
VGA to Component
Make sure you TV has @least one of these 3 colored group inputs in front or in back of it. 1. Composite (Mono): Yellow, White or Red
2. Composite (Stereo): Yellow, White, Red 3. Component: Red, Green, Blue
If you don't have any of those then you'll need This Along with a Splitter.
Hope this helps, if it does then please remember to leave Feedback/Testimonial.

I want to connect my computer to my Vizio TV to watch movies via netflix on my TV screen. If HDMI on TV end, what connection do I need to connect to the back of computer?

What "video-inputs" does your TV have:

* composite video (single cable for video, two cables for LEFT/RIGHT audio)
* component video (RED/GREEN/BLUE cables for video, plus RED/WHITE cables for stereo audio)
* DVI or VGA input
* HDMI input
* S-Video (similar to PS/2 keyboard/mouse, in size, and "round" shape)

What outputs does your computer's video-card have:

* composite (post-and-ring)
* S-Video
* DVI
* VGA
* HDMI

Just match them up.

It has tripple vision and looks like a bow tie.

hi, sounds like a convergence issue. try this...
  • Look through your manual. Your manual will always give you the most specific directions for your particular model. Look for an "adjusting convergence" or "set manual convergence" section.

  • Enter the menu on your TV. Use the remote control and bring up the menu.
  • Choose "Convergence." This may be under "Picture Settings," "Function" or "Advanced Options."
  • Select a color. You will have red, green and blue to choose from. Do each one, starting with red.
  • Press "Enter." A crosshair pattern will appear on your screen.
  • Adjust vertically. If there is a horizontal red line visible, press the up or down arrow keys (or channel up or down) to adjust the convergence until the line is superimposed on the horizontal-center line of the white crosshair.
  • Adjust horizontally. If there is a vertical red line visible, press left or right (or volume up or down) to adjust horizontally. Do this until the line is superimposed on the vertical line of the white crosshair.
  • Save settings. It is important to save your settings when you are done, instead of simply exiting the menu.
  • Repeat these steps for all colors.

  • good luck!

    I have thin red line in the center of screen fron

    Hi,
    If the line is present on all inputs, it is most likely a bad panel (screen). The screens are either not available or cost more than a new TV.
    Not good news I know but at least you can save the $100 estimate fee.
    Best of luck

    Problem with horizontal lines

    The video controller circuit may be going sourer. The replacement could be more expensive than a replacement monitor.
