The simplest would be to read the contents of the media card/camera connected through the USB port of a PC and burn it on the PC's CD/DVD burner. Alternately, instead of the camera/USB/PC/CD burner, you can use a memory card reader for the memory card. Requirements would then be:
Go into the "setup" menu on the camera, and select "format".lem
This will reformat the card and should fix the problem. The manual actually reccomends doing this in addition to using the "delete when copied" function in the Finepix program
I've had similar problem when I was messing around with the Sony memory stick. The cheap pins inside that suppose to touch the memory got screwed up. I just bought the camera so took it back to the store and got a different one.
Anyway, try shining a flashlight into the memory slot and see how the pins are. If they are not line up then use a really small something to re-line them like they suppose to.
See if it's possible to reformat the memory. That sometime help too. It happened to my sis cell phone. We had to reformat the memory stick to get it working right.
I do not think this have anything to do with battery. If you don't put memory in and camera say "No memory" and with memory in and it read "Mem error" then likely the reader or the pins are screwed up.
Goodluck.
I don't know what you are doing, but my Nikon 4500
has a panoramic feature. It has nothing to do with the memory card. When you put it in panorama mode, on the second and subsequent shots, it shows about 1/3 of the previous shot in the viewfinder. You line that up with your present shot, and take the picture. The Nikon software, on a computer, can probably stitch the photos back together. You can do the same thing in an image editing program.
card not initialized whot does this mean can anybody help
