Am not able to copy nor delete files from my 8Gb transcend pen drive,the message display is ur drive is write protected,even it is not formated what shall i do.

Hi, Make sure you do not have any read only files in the pendrive or system files which may not allow the pen drive to be formatted. Turn on show hidden files and check too. Change the properties of the files which are read only and then u must be able to format it. Also do check if the pen drive can be password protected. Since some pendrives in the market do have this feature. Feel free to post again if the problem persists

check once whether u hv given read only option in properties

move it so that its between unlock and lock
then do wut u want ;)

my pen drive transend JF V10 4gb is not being detected on my pc whose os is windows xp.but it is being detected on my laptop with the same os.

i) this is trick i followed with my pen drive, if you an windows xp cd, insert it in ur computer and restart ur computer(follow the procedure of formating ur system or reloading OS, where u will get message "press any key to boot from cd....), make sure that ur pen drive is inserted when u are restarting ur system, 

ii) i'm not going to format ur system, when u get message(to fromat in C press Enter or ESC), at this point of time u press ESC and will see all ur partition(harddisk, like C, D, E.....)and u will even ur pendrive partition separtely a


iii) and now highlight or select ur pen drive partition and press key D to delete partition and follow instruction ....after completing this deletion process, again press C to create partition........
and ultimately come out them by pressing ESC and this will prompt "whether u want to abort formating ur system, say yes..........Enter and normally continue ur operations in ur system...

iv) if u are familiar formating ur system u can do this very easily(note: i'm not formating ur system)
