SOURCE: radiator fan blown up put hole in radiator need to change both need help with and tools needed

First you have to remove the air intake panel by either the screws or the pushclips on the sides. This then simply lifts up allowing you to gain acces to the radiator fan.

The viscous coupling fan is then held on by what appears to be a large nut coming out the side of the engine. i believe this is a 32mm ad an open ended spanner is the tool for the job. However its on tight so gently tap with a hammer to loosen and able to unscrew by hand. The fan cover/gaurd around the fan is held on again by 2 screws/pushclips on either side and would need to be lifted out with the fan.

When reversing the steps to fit a new one you only need to nip up the fan when tighteneing as the it uses the rotation of the engine to keep the fan tight in place!

Not a difficult job but can be tricky putting the new fan back on the threads!

Hope this helps!

SOURCE: need to change coolent in radiater

You don't need to use a special kind of radiator flush, but the coolant is called DEX COOL. It's made by prestone specifically for GM engines, you can get it at walmart for like 5 bucks.

When replacing radiator on Volvo xc90 2004 do you take radiator out of the bottom or do you need to take front of vehicle apart?

You will need to take it out from the bottom. Support the a/c condenser and remove it with the inter cooler.

Pt cruiser starts finethen loops at 2200rpm i have changed all sesnsors still no change

Your sensors may be doing exactly what they are meant to do, but it wasn't a bad idea to change them as a starting point. Have you noticed poor cooling from the a/c as well? Open your hood in the driveway and check that your electric radiator fan is turning on regularly once the car warms up. There is a fine dance between the electric radiator fan, the a/c compressor, and the idle sensors on this car. If your problem resolves itself at highway speeds & reoccurs when you stop, then the problem is that your electric radiator fan is in need of replacement. The brushes inside that electric motor do wear out from use - especially in a hot climate - and are not designed to be replaced by a home mechanic. You can have the electric motor rebuilt by a electrical shop - or just replace it yourself with one ordered at any parts counter. When the cooling fan does not switch on at idle speeds, the a/c compressor will overheat and cause it to vent freon to save itself from permanent damage. The overall excess heat buildup in your engine compartment also causes the idle problems where it will surge up and down in slow traffic or at a stoplight. When I changed that motor it solved many inter-related issues that I was having.

1997 Grand Am overheated. Fan, temperature gauge changed. Head gasket replaced. Car was running fine, couple days later, acted like it wanted to overheat, why does it keep doing this?

I think you need to clean your radiator(open water tank and remove all dirt inside it and inter in water hols and pipe thin stick), change thermostat to lower degree heat, if the problem continue try to remove thermostat.

Is this TRUE that small Quantity Mobil Oil comes in coolent through INTERCOOLER in swift vdi ddis ?

i wouldnt think so.. the inter cooler on a turbo car is for air only. if your getting oil mixed with coolant the issue can either be a bad turbo or a blown head gasket or if your radiator has an oil cooler built into it then your radiator is bad and needs replaced..

I REPLACED WATER PUMP, FAN CLUTCH, TOOK OUT THERMOSTAT, REPLACE RADIATOR CAP, TOOK RADIATOR TO GET CLEANED AND STILL OVERHEATS WHATS THE PROBLEM

about the only thing left is that the engine block & head may be blocked, also check that the radiator hoses have not gone soft & flatten, especially the bottom one, because you have done everything else that can be done, at worse it could be a blown head gasket......hope this helps.......cheers.

You will need to remove the radiator and inter cooler and any thing else in front of the engine that is in the way. I hope this helps.

I have oil in radiator ,transmission slips

Does the oil in the radiator look reddish? likely it does...You most likely have a failure inside the radiator where the trans cooler coil runs through it. Replace radiator and have trans fluid changed and flushed. If slipping continues trans will need a rebuild. (hope not)
