Nintendo Wii console gets a black screen when switched on

I bought a modded Wii in India and was working perfectly for two months.
I was playing games and I switched it off as usual. Then that night I bought a new game so I switched on the Wii console but no logo screen appeared except a scratchy line for a second and there was no audio and no video.
I checked all the connections and also removed them and fixed them back but no solution. The power turns on as usual a green light. The DVD drive shows up blue light for 2 seconds and the DVD drive works perfect when I insert a disc it takes in and when I press the eject button it ejects. The fan also works. But when the power is on that is when the power light is green I can't turn off the Wii console by pressing the power button and the reset button also won't work.

Have exactly the same problem as the other two. Our Wii is only 12 days old and had been on for an hour when fault occured. Ventilation fine and no obvious cause.

Not to be mean but buying a modded anything usually voids the warranty.

Not having anything to go off of regarding the mod means that we don't know if it's a faulty weld on the board or anything like that.

Try doing a system reset (if there is a reset button) and see if that works

Wii Console: My wii console says 'wii system update' everytime ...

I had a friend with the same issue. I just modded his wii and then he backed the games up to a hard drive and they played perfectly without an update being needed. The best place to get your wii modded is www.wiihdmods.com

My Wii wont play games, plays Wii fit fine but have tried Carnival games and Wii sports but when i tried to load them the screen goes black and then goes to main menu, any ideas????

This should only happen if they are backed up games. But you can mod your wii system at www.wiihdmods.com and get 100 wii games playable from a hard drive for 150.00

The wii is not working

Assuming you did not tamper with the system (mod it to play burnt games) then that is usually caused by the BlueTooth module not working.

If it's under warranty then send it back to Nintendo. They are very quick and very good.

If it's not, you could try replacing the Bluetooth module yourself. I get mine from http://parts.consolerepairguy.com for about $22. I fix consoles so I know that is usually the cause.

Good luck!
